Penile issues
Hello doctor, yesterday during an erection, I suddenly experienced pain on the right side of the base of my penis (it also hurts abnormally when pressed).
I felt a slight deformity during the erection (similar to being twisted to one side, causing an imbalance).
After that, my penis suddenly became flaccid and shrank to about 4-5 centimeters (normally it is around 6-7 centimeters when not erect).
I have not engaged in sexual activity or masturbation in the past two days, and I recently received a vaccination.
I would like to ask the doctor what the possible causes could be and whether I should go to the hospital for an examination.

Penile pain and deformation can be concerning symptoms that warrant medical attention. Based on your description, it seems that you are experiencing pain on the right side of the base of the penis during an erection, along with a noticeable change in shape and size. This could be indicative of several potential issues, and it’s important to understand the possible causes and when to seek medical help.
One potential cause of the pain and deformation you are experiencing could be a condition known as Peyronie's disease. This condition is characterized by the development of fibrous scar tissue inside the penis, which can lead to curved, painful erections. The pain you feel during an erection and the change in shape may suggest that there is some form of trauma or injury to the penile tissue, which could lead to the formation of scar tissue.
Another possibility is that you may have experienced a penile fracture, which is a rare but serious injury that occurs when there is trauma to an erect penis. This can happen during vigorous sexual activity or due to an accident. Symptoms of a penile fracture typically include a popping sound, immediate pain, swelling, and bruising, along with changes in the shape of the penis. If you suspect that you may have experienced such an injury, it is crucial to seek emergency medical care.
Additionally, the sudden shrinkage of the penis you described could be related to psychological factors, such as anxiety or stress, especially if you are feeling concerned about the pain and deformation. However, it is essential to rule out any physical causes first.
Given that you have not engaged in sexual activity or masturbation recently, and considering that you mentioned receiving a vaccine, it is unlikely that the vaccine is directly related to your symptoms. However, if you have any underlying health conditions or if the vaccine you received is known to have side effects affecting the genital area, it would be worth discussing this with your healthcare provider.
In terms of when to seek medical help, it is advisable to do so if:
1. The pain persists or worsens.
2. You notice any swelling, bruising, or deformity that does not improve.
3. You experience any changes in urination or sexual function.
4. You have any concerns about the possibility of a fracture or other serious injury.
In your case, since you are experiencing pain and deformation, it would be wise to consult a healthcare professional as soon as possible. A urologist would be the appropriate specialist to evaluate your symptoms, perform any necessary examinations (such as an ultrasound or MRI), and provide you with a diagnosis and treatment options.
In conclusion, while there could be various reasons for your symptoms, it is crucial to seek medical attention to ensure that any serious conditions are ruled out and to receive appropriate care. Early intervention can often lead to better outcomes, especially in cases involving potential injury or trauma to the penis.
