Head pressure or tightness?
In recent days, I have been experiencing a feeling of pressure and tightness in my head, which does not have a fixed location or time (sometimes my nose also feels swollen).
Occasionally, my hands and feet feel numb and tremble, and I have some pain in the back of my neck (which worsens with coughing and deep breathing).
Yesterday, I felt nauseous while traveling in a vehicle, and since returning, I've been feeling dizzy and slightly nauseous.
Today, I still feel a bit off, and after an earthquake last night, I felt even worse (my body felt like it was swaying, and I felt a bit nauseous).
Sometimes, it feels like my whole body is shaking.
I would like to ask the doctor what this could be.
(I have not experienced these symptoms before, only slight kyphosis and a bit of a hunchback.)

Hello, dizziness can have numerous potential causes: 1) If accompanied by a dull pain at the back of the head, it may suggest poor blood circulation in the head and neck.
2) If there are symptoms of ear fullness, pressure, or hearing loss, it may indicate sudden sensorineural hearing loss, Meniere's disease, or acute labyrinthitis.
3) If turning the head exacerbates the symptoms, it may suggest benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV).
Other possible diagnoses include vestibular neuritis, migraine-associated vertigo, orthostatic hypotension, hyperlipidemia, and brain lesions, among others.
It is advisable to seek further evaluation and treatment from an otolaryngologist or neurologist if symptoms persist.
Wishing you safety and health.

The symptoms you are experiencing, including a feeling of head pressure, discomfort, and associated symptoms like numbness in your limbs, neck pain, and dizziness, can be indicative of several underlying issues, particularly related to the ear, nose, and throat (ENT) system, as well as potential neurological concerns.
Firstly, the sensation of head pressure and tightness can often be linked to sinus issues. Sinusitis, which is the inflammation of the sinus cavities, can lead to feelings of pressure in the head, especially if there is congestion in the nasal passages. This can be exacerbated by changes in atmospheric pressure, such as during a flight or even during an earthquake, which can cause the sinuses to react and lead to discomfort. If you are experiencing nasal congestion along with this pressure, it would be wise to consider whether you might have an upper respiratory infection or allergies contributing to your symptoms.
The numbness and tingling in your hands and feet could be related to anxiety or stress, especially if these symptoms have emerged during or after stressful events, such as the earthquake you mentioned. Anxiety can lead to hyperventilation, which can cause sensations of dizziness and tingling in the extremities. However, it is also important to rule out any neurological issues, particularly if these symptoms are new or have worsened over time.
The neck pain you are experiencing, especially if it worsens with coughing or deep breathing, could suggest a muscular issue or even cervical spine problems. Tension in the neck muscles can lead to referred pain and discomfort in the head, which might explain the pressure you feel. Additionally, if you have a history of poor posture (like a hunched back), this could contribute to muscle strain and discomfort.
Given that you mentioned experiencing dizziness and a sensation of your body shaking, this could also be related to vestibular issues, which involve the inner ear and balance. Conditions such as benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) or vestibular neuritis can cause dizziness and a feeling of imbalance, particularly after sudden movements or changes in position.
Considering the complexity of your symptoms, it is crucial to seek a thorough evaluation from a healthcare professional. An ENT specialist can assess for sinus issues, while a neurologist can evaluate for any potential neurological conditions. Diagnostic tests, such as imaging studies (CT or MRI) or vestibular testing, may be necessary to pinpoint the exact cause of your symptoms.
In the meantime, managing stress and anxiety through relaxation techniques, such as deep breathing exercises, mindfulness, or gentle physical activity, may help alleviate some of your symptoms. Staying hydrated and ensuring you are getting adequate rest can also be beneficial.
In summary, your symptoms could stem from a combination of ENT issues, anxiety, and potential musculoskeletal problems. A comprehensive evaluation by a healthcare provider is essential to determine the underlying cause and appropriate treatment.
