Ejaculation issues
Hello doctor, I am the person who asked a question on April 17th.
Yesterday, I forgot to ask you another question.
Sometimes after I finish DIY activities, I experience a strong urge to urinate and a burning sensation at the urethral opening that lasts for about 10 minutes.
After that, the sensation disappears on its own (sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't).
The next morning, when I go to the bathroom, I do not experience any pain, itching, or burning.
I would like to know if this could be related to prostatitis or if it might be caused by frequent activity.
I apologize for not asking everything at once.

DIY activities should also be done with appropriate lubrication to avoid injury to the penis.
However, do not use soap as a lubricant, as it may cause discomfort in the urethra.
Based on your description, it seems more like a neurological response, which should not be a concern.
If you are worried, it is advisable to visit a urologist to rule out any infection issues.

Post-ejaculation urinary discomfort is a common issue that many individuals experience, and it can be attributed to several factors. Based on your description, it seems that you are experiencing a transient burning sensation or urgency to urinate shortly after ejaculation, which resolves within about ten minutes. This discomfort can be caused by a variety of reasons, including but not limited to prostate inflammation, urinary tract irritation, or even psychological factors.
One potential cause of your symptoms could be prostatitis, which is the inflammation of the prostate gland. Prostatitis can lead to discomfort in the pelvic area, including the urethra, and may cause symptoms such as burning during urination, increased frequency of urination, and urgency. However, it is important to note that prostatitis is often accompanied by other symptoms, such as pain in the lower abdomen, back pain, or discomfort during ejaculation. Since you mentioned that you do not experience pain, itching, or burning during urination the following morning, this might suggest that prostatitis is less likely, but it cannot be completely ruled out without further evaluation.
Another possibility is that the sensation you are experiencing is related to the physical activity associated with ejaculation. The urethra and surrounding tissues can become temporarily irritated due to the muscular contractions that occur during ejaculation. This irritation can lead to a brief period of discomfort or urgency to urinate, which typically resolves on its own, as you have described.
Additionally, frequent sexual activity or ejaculation can sometimes lead to temporary changes in the urinary tract, resulting in sensations of urgency or discomfort. If you are engaging in sexual activity more frequently than usual, this could be a contributing factor. It is also worth considering that dehydration or a lack of adequate fluid intake can exacerbate urinary discomfort, so ensuring you are well-hydrated may help alleviate some symptoms.
If this discomfort persists or worsens, or if you begin to experience additional symptoms such as persistent pain, fever, or changes in urinary habits, it would be advisable to consult a healthcare professional. They may recommend a thorough evaluation, which could include a physical examination, urinalysis, and possibly imaging studies to rule out any underlying conditions.
In the meantime, here are some general recommendations to help manage your symptoms:
1. Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to help dilute your urine and reduce irritation in the urinary tract.
2. Avoid Irritants: Limit consumption of caffeine, alcohol, and spicy foods, as these can irritate the bladder and urinary tract.
3. Practice Good Hygiene: Ensure proper hygiene before and after sexual activity to reduce the risk of urinary tract infections.
4. Monitor Symptoms: Keep track of when the discomfort occurs and any associated activities or dietary factors that may contribute to it.
5. Consult a Doctor: If symptoms persist or if you have concerns about your prostate health, consider scheduling an appointment with a urologist for a comprehensive evaluation.
In conclusion, while post-ejaculation urinary discomfort can be concerning, it is often a benign issue that resolves on its own. However, being attentive to your body and seeking medical advice when necessary is crucial for maintaining urinary and reproductive health.
