The issue of cauliflower?

Hello doctor, I discovered warts two weeks ago during a visit to the clinic, and I had no idea I had this condition before.
My girlfriend performed oral sex on me without a condom when I had no visible lesions.
Is there a possibility that I could infect my mouth with warts when we kiss? I also have psoriasis on the back of my neck, and sometimes when it itches a lot, I tend to rub it a bit.
Could that also lead to an infection with warts in that area? If there is a possibility of infection in the scenarios mentioned above, how should I treat it if no lesions are present? Additionally, my symptoms are relatively mild, with very small growths.
I have undergone two weeks of cryotherapy combined with applying Aldara, but they have not shrunk or fallen off.
Is this normal? I apologize for the many questions; the doctors at the clinic were vague after the cryotherapy, and I am really confused, so I came to ask for your help.
Thank you.

Cauliflower refers to the human papillomavirus (HPV) infection that occurs in the genital and perianal areas.
Other conditions are not referred to as cauliflower.
However, I regret to inform you that current medical regulations do not allow for online diagnoses in this manner.
If it is inconvenient to visit a hospital or clinic due to the pandemic, you may consult a dermatology clinic that offers telemedicine services, which can provide you with the necessary diagnosis and treatment according to regulations.

More Info

Cauliflower warts, medically known as genital warts, are caused by certain strains of the human papillomavirus (HPV). They can appear as small, flesh-colored or gray growths that may resemble cauliflower. Understanding the risks, treatment options, and concerns surrounding cauliflower warts is essential for managing this condition effectively.

Risks of Transmission
Regarding your concerns about transmission, HPV is primarily spread through direct skin-to-skin contact, particularly during sexual activities. If your girlfriend performed oral sex on you while you had no visible lesions, the risk of transmission is relatively low, but not impossible. HPV can be present on the skin even when no symptoms are visible, which means that it is theoretically possible for the virus to be transmitted during intimate contact, including kissing. However, the likelihood of developing warts in the mouth from kissing is considered low.

As for your psoriasis on the back of your neck, scratching or rubbing the area can potentially lead to skin irritation or infection, but it does not directly cause HPV infection. However, if you have cauliflower warts, it is crucial to avoid touching or scratching the warts, as this can lead to the spread of the virus to other areas of your body or to other individuals.

Treatment Options
You mentioned that you have been undergoing cryotherapy (freezing treatment) for two weeks, combined with the application of a topical medication called Aldara (imiquimod). It is not uncommon for warts to take some time to respond to treatment. Cryotherapy can cause the wart to swell and become inflamed before it eventually falls off, which may take several weeks. If you do not see any improvement after a few more weeks, it is advisable to follow up with your healthcare provider. They may consider alternative treatments such as laser therapy, electrosurgery, or different topical agents.

Managing Symptoms
Since your symptoms are mild, it is essential to monitor the warts closely. If they begin to grow larger, multiply, or cause discomfort, you should consult your healthcare provider for further evaluation and management. In the meantime, maintaining good hygiene and avoiding any irritants in the affected area can help manage symptoms.

Emotional and Psychological Considerations
It is understandable to feel confused and anxious about your diagnosis and treatment. The stigma surrounding sexually transmitted infections (STIs) can add to the emotional burden. It may be beneficial to discuss your feelings with a trusted friend or a mental health professional. Support groups or counseling can also provide a safe space to share your experiences and learn from others facing similar challenges.

Conclusion
In summary, while the risk of transmitting cauliflower warts through kissing or oral sex is low, it is not entirely absent. It is crucial to follow your treatment plan and communicate openly with your healthcare provider about your concerns and any changes in your condition. Remember that HPV is a common virus, and many people are affected by it. With appropriate treatment and care, you can manage your symptoms effectively. If you have further questions or if your condition does not improve, do not hesitate to seek additional medical advice.
