Urinary tract infection (UTI)
Doctor, when I was about ten years old, I experienced pain and a burning sensation while urinating.
I didn't tell my mother, so I didn't seek medical attention.
After a while, the pain seemed to go away, but when I pulled back my foreskin, I noticed pus and scarring on the glans.
Although urination was no longer painful, I still felt something unusual during urination, like splitting or spraying erratically.
It wasn't until I was 19 that I went to see a doctor, primarily due to erectile dysfunction.
The doctor suggested that I might have prostatitis, possibly exacerbated by my strong libido and frequent masturbation, although I admit to having a strong sex drive, I don't watch adult films often.
I eventually received treatment, but I still experience splitting and erratic spraying during urination.
What should I do, and could prostatitis and the previous pain during urination affect my current height and penis size? I feel like I have stopped developing.
Thank you.

Urinary tract infections (UTIs) can significantly impact men's health, especially if they are recurrent or left untreated. Your history of experiencing painful urination and subsequent symptoms suggests that you may have had an underlying issue that could have contributed to your current concerns.
Firstly, it's essential to understand that UTIs can occur in men, although they are more common in women. In men, UTIs can be associated with various factors, including anatomical abnormalities, urinary retention, or infections of the prostate (prostatitis). The symptoms you described, such as burning during urination and the presence of discharge, could indicate a urinary tract infection or possibly a sexually transmitted infection (STI), particularly if there were any unprotected sexual encounters.
The fact that you experienced symptoms at a young age but did not seek medical attention is not uncommon. Many individuals may feel embarrassed or unsure about discussing such issues, but it is crucial to address them promptly to prevent complications. Chronic infections can lead to scarring or damage to the urinary tract, which may explain the changes in your urinary stream, such as splitting or spraying.
Regarding your concerns about the long-term effects of prostatitis and UTIs on your growth and penile size, it is important to clarify that these conditions do not directly affect your height or the length of your penis. Growth in height is primarily determined by genetics and the closure of growth plates in the bones, which occurs after puberty. However, chronic inflammation or infection can lead to discomfort and psychological stress, which may indirectly affect sexual function and confidence.
In terms of treatment, if you are still experiencing symptoms such as a split urine stream or discomfort, it is advisable to consult a urologist. They may recommend a thorough evaluation, including urine tests, imaging studies, or even a cystoscopy, to assess the urinary tract's condition. Treatment may involve antibiotics if an infection is present, as well as lifestyle modifications such as increased hydration, avoiding irritants (like caffeine and spicy foods), and practicing good hygiene.
Additionally, if you have concerns about anxiety or psychological factors affecting your sexual health, discussing these with a healthcare provider can be beneficial. They can provide support and possibly refer you to a mental health professional if needed.
In summary, urinary tract infections and prostatitis can have lasting effects on men's health, particularly if not addressed early. It is essential to seek medical advice for persistent symptoms and to engage in open discussions with healthcare providers about any concerns you may have. Early intervention can help prevent complications and improve overall health and well-being.
