The heart rate is very irregular?
Hello doctor, under normal circumstances, my resting heart rate is usually around 60 to 80 beats per minute.
However, recently it often exceeds 80 and even goes over 90.
When I stand up and walk around, my heart rate easily surpasses 100.
I also frequently feel my body vibrating with my heartbeat.
Is there something wrong with my body that requires a hospital visit, or are there any methods to improve this condition?

Hello, the heart rate is controlled by the brain, and as long as it is regular without arrhythmia, fluctuations between 60 to 100 beats per minute are considered normal.
Feeling your body vibrating with your heartbeat is known as palpitations.
Palpitations are not necessarily a cause for concern; it is advisable to monitor the situation.
If discomfort persists, it would be appropriate to visit a cardiology clinic for further evaluation.

When it comes to irregular heartbeats, also known as arrhythmias, it's essential to understand the underlying causes and when to seek medical attention. Your reported symptoms of an increased heart rate, particularly when resting or with minimal exertion, warrant further evaluation. A resting heart rate of 60 to 80 beats per minute is generally considered normal, but consistently exceeding 80 beats per minute, especially reaching over 100 beats per minute with minimal activity, can indicate an underlying issue.
Several factors can contribute to an increased heart rate, including anxiety, stress, dehydration, caffeine intake, or even certain medications. However, if these symptoms are new, persistent, or accompanied by other concerning signs such as chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, or fainting, it is crucial to seek medical attention promptly. These could be signs of a more serious condition, such as atrial fibrillation, which can increase the risk of stroke, or other forms of heart disease.
In your case, the sensation of your body vibrating with your heartbeat could be related to palpitations, which are often benign but can also indicate an arrhythmia. It’s important to differentiate between benign palpitations and those that may require intervention. A thorough evaluation by a healthcare provider is recommended, which may include:
1. Electrocardiogram (ECG): This test records the electrical activity of your heart and can help identify any irregular rhythms.
2. Holter Monitor: If your symptoms are intermittent, a Holter monitor can be worn for 24-48 hours to capture your heart's activity during your daily routine.
3. Echocardiogram: This ultrasound of the heart can assess the structure and function of your heart, helping to identify any underlying issues.
4. Blood Tests: These can check for thyroid function, electrolyte levels, and other factors that might contribute to an increased heart rate.
5. Stress Test: This can evaluate how your heart performs under physical stress and help identify any ischemic changes.
To manage your symptoms, consider the following lifestyle modifications:
- Stay Hydrated: Dehydration can lead to increased heart rates, so ensure you are drinking enough fluids.
- Limit Stimulants: Reduce caffeine and nicotine intake, as these can exacerbate heart rate issues.
- Practice Relaxation Techniques: Stress management through techniques such as deep breathing, meditation, or yoga can help lower your heart rate.
- Regular Exercise: Engaging in regular physical activity can improve cardiovascular health and help regulate heart rhythms.
If your symptoms persist or worsen, or if you experience any alarming symptoms, do not hesitate to seek medical attention. Early intervention can be crucial in managing potential heart conditions effectively. Always consult with a healthcare professional for personalized advice and treatment options tailored to your specific situation.
