Can I get pregnant?

On August 13, my girlfriend started her period, which lasted until the 18th or 19th.
On the 22nd, we were in the bathroom, and she was helping me.
During the process, she used water to rinse her hands and important areas, and also applied some body wash.
Eventually, she stopped helping me, but her hands likely had pre-ejaculate fluid on them.
After that, she started washing her body, including her genital area.
Is it possible for her to get pregnant from the pre-ejaculate fluid flowing with the water?

Haohao, 10~19 year old female. Ask Date: 2021/08/24

Dear Haohao,
If your girlfriend has not completed her cleaning before starting to wash her genital area, it may not effectively reduce the risk of pregnancy.
If her menstruation is delayed by more than a week, please remember to take a pregnancy test.
For any other concerns, please consult a gynecologist.

When it comes to the question of whether you can get pregnant from pre-ejaculate during bathing, it's important to understand the mechanics of conception and the nature of pre-ejaculate fluid. Pre-ejaculate, or pre-cum, is a fluid released by the Cowper's glands during sexual arousal. This fluid can contain sperm, although typically in much lower concentrations than ejaculate.
In your scenario, where your girlfriend was washing her hands and body after coming into contact with pre-ejaculate, the likelihood of pregnancy is extremely low. Sperm are quite sensitive and do not survive long outside of the human body, especially in water. When sperm are exposed to water, soap, or other substances, their viability decreases significantly.
Moreover, for pregnancy to occur, sperm must be deposited in the vaginal canal in sufficient quantities and in a viable state. The act of washing, especially with soap and water, would further reduce the chances of any sperm remaining viable. Even if some pre-ejaculate were to come into contact with her vaginal area, the chances of sperm traveling through water and successfully fertilizing an egg are negligible.

To summarize, while pre-ejaculate can contain sperm, the conditions you've described—washing with water and soap—would make it highly unlikely for pregnancy to occur. The best way to prevent unintended pregnancies is through the consistent and correct use of contraceptives, such as condoms, which provide a barrier that prevents sperm from entering the vaginal canal.

In terms of sexual health, it is also important to consider the risks of sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Using condoms not only helps prevent pregnancy but also protects against STIs, which can be transmitted through bodily fluids.
If you or your girlfriend have concerns about pregnancy or sexual health, it is advisable to consult with a healthcare provider for personalized advice and guidance. They can provide information on effective contraceptive methods and help address any questions or concerns you may have regarding sexual activity and reproductive health.
In conclusion, while the situation you described poses a very low risk for pregnancy, understanding the mechanics of conception and the importance of safe sexual practices is crucial for responsible sexual health management.
