Dizziness, diarrhea, fever, rapid heartbeat?

Hello, doctor.
Recently, I've been feeling a bit unusual.
Two weeks ago, I woke up one day feeling completely weak, and my ear temperature was slightly elevated at 37.2 degrees Celsius.
I felt lethargic all day, and by the evening, my temperature rose further to around 37.7 to 38 degrees Celsius.
However, after drinking plenty of water and resting that night, my symptoms completely resolved.
The week prior, I experienced some urticaria, where areas of my skin that were constricted by clothing would itch and become raised and red, but this would subside on its own after about 10 minutes.
I was quite worried, so I purchased a home rapid test for self-assessment, which returned negative, and I had no other related symptoms, so I didn't pay much attention to it.
Yesterday, after getting home from work, I felt feverish again, with an ear temperature of 38 degrees Celsius.
I also experienced dizziness and occasional palpitations, and in the evening, I started having diarrhea and felt slightly nauseous.
After drinking more water and resting, my ear temperature dropped back to 37.2 degrees Celsius.
This morning, before leaving the house, my ear temperature returned to normal at 36.7 degrees Celsius, and I have no other discomfort.
Could you please help me understand what might be causing these symptoms? Thank you!

More Info

Your symptoms of intermittent fever, dizziness, and digestive issues can be concerning and may stem from various underlying causes. Given the complexity of your situation, it’s essential to consider a few potential explanations based on the information you've provided.

Firstly, the fluctuating fever you are experiencing, ranging from 37.2°C to 38°C, suggests that your body is responding to some form of stress or infection. While your home test for COVID-19 returned negative, it’s important to remember that other viral infections, such as influenza or gastrointestinal viruses, could still be at play. These infections can cause fever, fatigue, and gastrointestinal symptoms like diarrhea and nausea. The fact that your fever resolves with rest and hydration could indicate that your body is effectively fighting off a mild infection.

The presence of urticaria (hives) that you mentioned could also be linked to an allergic reaction or a response to stress. Hives can occur due to various triggers, including food, medications, or environmental factors. Since you noted that the hives appear in areas where clothing is tight, it might be worth considering if friction or heat is exacerbating your skin's sensitivity.
Dizziness and feelings of weakness can be associated with dehydration, especially if you have experienced diarrhea. When the body loses fluids, it can lead to a drop in blood pressure, causing dizziness and fatigue. Ensuring adequate hydration is crucial, particularly if you are experiencing gastrointestinal symptoms.
Additionally, the heart palpitations you mentioned could be a response to anxiety, dehydration, or even a mild infection. Stress and anxiety can manifest physically, leading to symptoms such as increased heart rate and dizziness. It’s also possible that your body is reacting to the discomfort of your other symptoms, which can create a cycle of anxiety and physical symptoms.

Given the variety of symptoms and their potential overlap, it is advisable to consult a healthcare professional for a thorough evaluation. They may recommend blood tests, allergy tests, or other diagnostic procedures to rule out infections, allergies, or other underlying conditions.
In the meantime, here are some general recommendations to help manage your symptoms:
1. Stay Hydrated: Continue to drink plenty of fluids, especially water, to help combat dehydration and support your immune system.

2. Rest: Ensure you are getting adequate rest to allow your body to recover. Sleep is crucial for immune function.

3. Monitor Symptoms: Keep a detailed log of your symptoms, including when they occur, their duration, and any potential triggers. This information can be valuable for your healthcare provider.

4. Avoid Known Triggers: If you suspect certain foods or environmental factors may be causing your hives, try to avoid them and see if your symptoms improve.

5. Seek Medical Attention: If your symptoms persist, worsen, or if you develop new symptoms (such as difficulty breathing, severe abdominal pain, or prolonged fever), seek medical attention promptly.

In conclusion, while your symptoms may be indicative of a mild infection or an allergic reaction, a thorough evaluation by a healthcare professional is essential to determine the exact cause and appropriate treatment. Your health is paramount, and addressing these symptoms early can lead to better outcomes.
