Excessive pubic hair removal?

I'm this person's friend who read the doctor's response and still has some thoughts to share.
I hope you don't mind me reaching out again.

1.
I may not have expressed myself clearly.
When I mentioned my concern about hair, I apologize for using a term that might not be clear; I meant that hair gets trapped under the foreskin.
Additionally, my pubic hair is quite long and difficult to break, so I have to go to the restroom to separate the foreskin from the trapped hair.
However, my friend can just pull it out directly (they only need to reach into their pocket to adjust), which I find very inconvenient.

2.
Regarding appearance, as you mentioned, I do feel uncomfortable about it.
In certain situations, I tend to stand out too much.
For instance, during a visit to a hot spring in middle school, a child pointed at me and told their dad, "That boy has a lot of hair," which was super embarrassing.
Overall, I dislike being in such situations and feel restricted in my movements.
3.
Lastly, I have a few questions.
I've placed a photo in the link and would like to know if it's normal for hair to show like this when wearing underwear? Is it appropriate or inappropriate? Do plastic surgeons handle these types of concerns, or do they have specific classifications? Since this is a private area, it would be quite embarrassing to go to the wrong place for consultation.

Thank you again for your patience in discussing this with me.

Hello! I'm sorry, I don't click on unfamiliar links.
Regarding your question, I highly recommend discussing it with your father to understand his thoughts and feelings on this matter.
As for aesthetic appearance, it is entirely subjective and you shouldn't take to heart what a child says about you.
Generally, how to manage your hair is based on personal preference, whether it's cutting, shaving, or hair removal.
However, since there is a risk of injury leading to infection, it's not advisable to do it yourself.
Currently, hair removal is more commonly performed in medical aesthetics.
Since hair removal may involve medical procedures and you are still a minor, it's even more important to consult your parents' opinions.

More Info

Managing pubic hair can be a sensitive topic, but it is important for both comfort and aesthetics. Many individuals experience concerns regarding the length, style, and maintenance of their pubic hair, which can lead to discomfort or embarrassment in certain situations. Here, I will address your concerns and provide some insights into managing pubic hair effectively.

Understanding Your Concerns
1. Hair Getting Caught: It sounds like you are experiencing discomfort due to your pubic hair getting caught in the foreskin. This can indeed be bothersome, especially if the hair is long and difficult to manage. Regular trimming can help alleviate this issue. Using scissors designed for body hair or an electric trimmer can make it easier to maintain a comfortable length without the risk of pulling or tugging.

2. Aesthetic Concerns: Feeling self-conscious about the appearance of your pubic hair is common. Many people prefer a certain look, whether that be a neatly trimmed appearance or a completely shaved area. It’s important to remember that personal grooming is subjective, and what matters most is your comfort and confidence. If you feel that your pubic hair is too prominent in certain situations, consider discussing grooming options with a professional.

3. Visibility in Clothing: You mentioned concerns about your pubic hair being visible when wearing underwear. This can depend on the style of your underwear and the amount of hair. If you find that your hair is protruding from your underwear, you might want to consider styles that provide more coverage or opt for a grooming method that reduces visibility, such as trimming or shaving.

Grooming Options
1. Trimming: Regularly trimming your pubic hair can help manage its length and prevent it from getting caught. Use scissors or a body hair trimmer to keep the hair at a manageable length. This method is less invasive than shaving and can help maintain comfort.

2. Shaving: If you prefer a clean look, shaving is an option. However, it’s important to use a clean, sharp razor and shaving cream to prevent irritation. Shaving can lead to ingrown hairs, so be sure to exfoliate the area regularly and consider using a soothing lotion afterward.

3. Waxing: For a longer-lasting solution, waxing can be effective. It removes hair from the root, which can lead to slower regrowth. However, waxing can be painful, and it’s best to have it done by a professional to minimize the risk of irritation or infection.

4. Laser Hair Removal: If you are looking for a more permanent solution, laser hair removal is an option. This method reduces hair growth over time and can be a good investment if you are looking for long-term results. Consult with a dermatologist or licensed practitioner to discuss this option.

Professional Guidance
If you are unsure about the best approach for your situation, consider consulting with a dermatologist or a licensed esthetician who specializes in body hair removal. They can provide personalized recommendations based on your hair type, skin sensitivity, and personal preferences.

Conclusion
Managing pubic hair is a personal choice that can impact both comfort and confidence. Whether you choose to trim, shave, wax, or explore laser hair removal, the key is to find a method that works best for you. Remember that grooming is a personal journey, and what matters most is that you feel comfortable and confident in your own skin. If you have further questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to seek professional advice for tailored solutions.
