Single-port laparoscopy + Daphnylin bleeding
Hello, I underwent a surgical procedure for a blighted ovum on August 27, and on August 29, I experienced severe pain from adenomyosis, leading to a single-port laparoscopic surgery on September 1 to remove fibroids, adenomyosis, and a chocolate cyst.
After the surgery, I received a dose of Lupron on September 9 and a second dose on October 6.
I have been experiencing continuous light bleeding since the surgery, with intermittent heavier bleeding, and I had a menstrual period on September 22.
My doctor prescribed hemostatic and menstrual regulation medications, but the bleeding has not completely stopped and continues to be light.
The ultrasound showed no abnormalities at the surgical site.
Is this normal?

The situation regarding the side effects of medication used in conjunction with surgery is complex, and it is recommended to return to the original surgeon's clinic for evaluation.

Post-surgery bleeding, particularly after a laparoscopic myomectomy, can be a concerning issue for many patients. In your case, it appears that you have undergone a series of significant procedures, including the removal of fibroids and an endometrioma (chocolate cyst), followed by hormonal treatments. The ongoing bleeding you are experiencing can be attributed to several factors, and it is essential to understand the context of your situation.
Firstly, it is not uncommon for patients to experience some degree of bleeding after a laparoscopic myomectomy. This can be due to several reasons, including the surgical technique used, the size and location of the fibroids removed, and the individual healing process. The fact that you have been experiencing intermittent bleeding since your surgery on September 1st, with a notable episode of menstruation on September 22nd, suggests that your body is still adjusting post-operatively.
The use of medications such as Diphereline (a GnRH agonist) can also influence bleeding patterns. These medications work by suppressing ovarian function, which can lead to changes in menstrual bleeding. While they are often used to manage endometriosis and fibroids, they can also cause irregular bleeding as your body adjusts to hormonal changes. The bleeding you describe as "滴滴答答" (dripping) is not unusual and may be a result of the hormonal fluctuations induced by the medication.
Regarding the ultrasound results indicating that the surgical site appears normal, this is a positive sign. It suggests that there are no immediate complications such as hematomas (localized collections of blood outside of blood vessels) or infections at the surgical site. However, it is crucial to continue monitoring your symptoms. If the bleeding persists or worsens, or if you experience any additional symptoms such as severe pain, fever, or signs of infection, it is essential to seek further medical evaluation.
In terms of what is considered "normal" after such a procedure, it is important to recognize that each patient's recovery is unique. Some may experience prolonged bleeding, while others may have a more straightforward recovery. The key is to maintain open communication with your healthcare provider. If you feel that your bleeding is excessive or concerning, do not hesitate to reach out for further evaluation. Your doctor may consider additional imaging studies or laboratory tests to ensure that everything is healing as expected.
In summary, while some post-operative bleeding can be normal, especially after a laparoscopic myomectomy, it is crucial to keep track of your symptoms and maintain regular follow-ups with your healthcare provider. Your ongoing bleeding, particularly in the context of recent surgeries and hormonal treatments, should be monitored closely. If you have any concerns or if your symptoms change, please consult your doctor for personalized advice and management.
