Experiencing discomfort or unusual sensations in the urethra after urination?

Recently, I've been feeling strange after urinating.
It feels warm while I'm urinating, but I'm not sure if it's a burning sensation or something else.
After I finish, sometimes it feels cool, and other times there's an indescribable sensation.
However, when I pull back my foreskin a bit, the strange feeling is less pronounced.
I looked online and found information suggesting it could be urethritis, but I'm not certain, as it doesn't seem to be very painful (I heard from a classmate that a urinary tract infection can be very painful).
Additionally, I have a suspected kidney stone measuring 0.56 cm, so I'm unsure if I should see a doctor.
Should I consult a physician? Thank you for your response.

Of course, it is important to promptly visit a urologist for examination and testing to determine whether there is a urinary tract infection or a stone issue, so that appropriate treatment can be administered.

Experiencing unusual sensations after urination can be concerning, and it's important to address these symptoms appropriately. Based on your description, it seems you are experiencing a combination of sensations during and after urination, including a feeling of heat, a cooling sensation afterward, and some discomfort that improves when you adjust your foreskin. You also mentioned a history of suspected kidney stones, which adds another layer to your situation.

Firstly, let's discuss the sensations you're experiencing. The feeling of heat during urination could be indicative of several conditions. One possibility is a urinary tract infection (UTI), which can cause a burning sensation during urination. However, you noted that you do not experience significant pain, which is often associated with UTIs. Another possibility is urethritis, an inflammation of the urethra that can result from infections or irritation. The fact that adjusting your foreskin alleviates some discomfort suggests that there may be an element of irritation or sensitivity related to the foreskin itself.

The cooling sensation you experience after urination is less common and could be due to a variety of factors, including the normal physiological response of the body as urine exits the urethra. However, if this sensation is accompanied by any unusual discharge, persistent discomfort, or changes in urinary habits (such as increased frequency or urgency), it would warrant further investigation.

Regarding your concern about kidney stones, a stone measuring 0.56 cm (or approximately 5.6 mm) is significant enough to potentially cause symptoms, including pain, hematuria (blood in urine), or changes in urination patterns. While you may not currently be experiencing severe pain, kidney stones can sometimes cause intermittent discomfort or unusual sensations as they move within the urinary tract.

Given these factors, it is advisable to consult a healthcare professional. Here are some reasons why seeing a doctor is important:
1. Accurate Diagnosis: A healthcare provider can perform a thorough evaluation, including a physical examination and possibly urine tests, to determine if you have a UTI, urethritis, or any other condition that may be causing your symptoms.

2. Kidney Stone Assessment: If you have a history of kidney stones, your doctor may recommend imaging studies, such as an ultrasound or CT scan, to assess the current status of the stone and determine if it is causing any obstruction or other complications.

3. Treatment Options: Depending on the diagnosis, your doctor can provide appropriate treatment options. If you have a UTI or urethritis, antibiotics may be necessary. If the kidney stone is causing issues, your doctor can discuss management strategies, which may include hydration, pain management, or procedures to remove or break up the stone.

4. Preventive Measures: If you are diagnosed with a condition that could recur, your doctor can provide guidance on preventive measures to reduce the risk of future infections or stone formation.

In summary, while your symptoms may not seem severe at this moment, they could indicate underlying issues that require medical attention. It is always better to err on the side of caution when it comes to your health. Therefore, I recommend scheduling an appointment with a healthcare provider to discuss your symptoms in detail and receive appropriate care. Your health is important, and addressing these concerns early can help prevent potential complications down the line.
