Bleeding from masturbation?
I have no sexual experience and I masturbate by directly stimulating the clitoris, about once a week.
Recently, for the past few months, after each session of masturbation, I notice brown discharge that returns to normal after a day or two.
However, this time after masturbating, I experienced bleeding (I saw a very small blood clot).
Does this mean I should avoid masturbation in the future? My period just ended 8 days ago.
Can you please explain why this is happening? Thank you.

Hello, based on your description of symptoms, it is more likely to be a skin abrasion or inflammation.
It is advisable to seek a physician's diagnosis and treatment if the symptoms persist or worsen.
Thank you! Wishing you safety and good health.

More Info
Experiencing brown discharge or bleeding after masturbation can be concerning, especially for someone who is not sexually experienced. It's important to understand that the female reproductive system can be sensitive, and various factors can contribute to changes in discharge or bleeding patterns.
Firstly, brown discharge is often old blood that has taken longer to exit the body. It can occur at various times in the menstrual cycle, including after menstruation. Since you mentioned that your period had just ended eight days prior, the brown discharge could simply be remnants of your last menstrual cycle. This is typically not a cause for alarm, especially if it is not accompanied by pain or other unusual symptoms.
However, the presence of a small blood clot after masturbation raises some questions. Masturbation, particularly if it involves vigorous stimulation, can sometimes cause minor trauma to the vaginal walls or cervix, leading to light bleeding. This is usually not serious, but it is essential to monitor the situation. If the bleeding continues, becomes heavier, or is accompanied by pain, it would be advisable to consult a healthcare professional.
It's also worth noting that hormonal fluctuations throughout your menstrual cycle can affect the consistency and color of your discharge. Stress, changes in diet, and other lifestyle factors can also play a role in how your body responds during this time.
Regarding your concern about whether you should continue to masturbate, it is generally safe to do so unless you experience significant pain or bleeding. If you find that masturbation consistently leads to bleeding or discomfort, it may be worth discussing with a healthcare provider to rule out any underlying issues.
In summary, while brown discharge and light bleeding after masturbation can be common and often harmless, it is crucial to pay attention to your body. If you notice any persistent changes or have concerns, seeking medical advice is always a good step. Your health and comfort should be the priority, and a healthcare professional can provide personalized guidance based on your specific situation.
