Masturbation and Actual Sexual Function?

I have been masturbating since I was very young, and in the past, I would do it one to three times a day, usually lasting around 6 to 10 minutes, or even longer.
However, after returning from a trip where I didn't masturbate for two to three days, I find that my sessions are almost instant, with ejaculation occurring after just a few strokes.
So, my stamina seems to be developed from masturbating one to three times a day, but after two or three days without it, I revert back to my original state.
This makes me feel really sad! Am I what doctors refer to as a "premature ejaculator"? What should I do about this in the future?

Hello: Your performance has actually been very good.
It's quite rare for someone to masturbate three times a day.
After 2 to 3 days of abstinence, ejaculating quickly after masturbation is not necessarily a sign of being a "quick shooter." It simply indicates that you are in a heightened state of arousal due to your youthful vigor.
There's no need to worry at all.
If you have any questions, feel free to let me know anytime.

Frequent masturbation and its effects on sexual performance is a topic that many individuals ponder, especially when they notice changes in their sexual experiences. Your observations about the differences in performance after periods of frequent masturbation versus abstinence are not uncommon and can be explained through various physiological and psychological mechanisms.

Firstly, it is essential to understand that sexual performance, including the duration of erection and the timing of ejaculation, can be influenced by numerous factors, including physical health, psychological state, and frequency of sexual activity. When you masturbate frequently, your body becomes accustomed to the stimulation and the patterns of arousal associated with it. This can lead to a phenomenon known as "refractory period," which is the time it takes for a man to regain the ability to achieve an erection after ejaculation.
During periods of frequent masturbation, your body may adapt to the stimulation, leading to quicker ejaculation during subsequent sexual encounters. This is particularly noticeable after a break from masturbation, where the body may react more intensely to stimulation due to heightened sensitivity. The "quick release" you experience after a few days of abstinence can be attributed to the buildup of sexual tension and arousal, which can lead to a more rapid climax when you finally do engage in sexual activity or masturbation.

Moreover, the psychological aspect plays a significant role in sexual performance. Anxiety about performance, self-expectations, and even the context in which sexual activity occurs can influence how your body responds. If you feel pressure to perform well after a period of abstinence, this can lead to increased anxiety, which may further affect your performance negatively.

To address your concerns about being labeled a "quick shooter," it's important to note that many men experience variations in their sexual performance based on numerous factors, including frequency of sexual activity, emotional state, and overall health. Here are some strategies that may help improve your sexual performance:
1. Practice Mindfulness and Relaxation Techniques: Reducing anxiety through mindfulness can help you focus on the experience rather than the outcome. Techniques such as deep breathing or meditation can help calm your mind.

2. Gradual Desensitization: If you notice that you climax quickly after a period of abstinence, consider gradually increasing the time between sessions. This can help your body adjust to longer durations of stimulation.

3. Pelvic Floor Exercises: Strengthening your pelvic floor muscles through exercises like Kegels can help improve control over ejaculation. These exercises involve contracting and relaxing the muscles that control urination.

4. Experiment with Different Techniques: Changing your masturbation techniques or positions can help you discover what feels best and may help you last longer during sexual encounters.

5. Consult a Professional: If you find that your concerns about sexual performance are affecting your confidence or relationships, consider speaking with a healthcare provider or a sex therapist. They can provide tailored advice and support.

In conclusion, while frequent masturbation can influence sexual performance, it is not the sole determinant. Variations in performance are normal and can be managed through understanding your body, practicing relaxation techniques, and possibly seeking professional guidance. Remember that sexual experiences are unique to each individual, and finding what works best for you is key to a satisfying sexual life.
