Uncertain whether pregnant or ill?

Hello doctor, I haven't had my period in March, April, and May this year, but it came in June.
However, it hasn't arrived this month yet.
I had sexual intercourse three times during this period, and we used condoms each time.
Before my period was due in June, I took a pregnancy test, which showed one line.
Recently, I've been feeling a bit nauseous in the mornings after eating, which makes me worry about the possibility of being pregnant.
My menstrual cycle has been quite regular in previous years.
As for my abdomen, I'm not sure if it has gotten bigger because I already have some body fat there.
When I sit down and lean forward, I can see a bit of a "muffin top," and I can pinch two layers of skin.
I read online that a pregnant belly feels tighter, but since I have never been pregnant before, I don't know if this information is relevant.

Hello, you can take a pregnancy test 12 days after sexual intercourse.
If the result is negative, it indicates that you are not pregnant.
If you used a condom throughout, the likelihood of pregnancy is very low.
Wishing you good health!

It sounds like you are experiencing a lot of uncertainty and anxiety regarding your potential pregnancy and your overall health. First and foremost, it’s important to acknowledge that your feelings are valid, and many people go through similar experiences when they suspect they might be pregnant or when they notice changes in their bodies.

Based on your description, you have had a late period and some symptoms that could be associated with early pregnancy, such as nausea. However, you also mentioned that you have taken a pregnancy test that showed a negative result. Pregnancy tests are generally quite accurate, especially when taken after a missed period, but they can sometimes yield false negatives, particularly if taken too early or if the test is not used correctly.

Given that you have had unprotected sexual encounters, it is understandable to be concerned about the possibility of pregnancy. However, it’s also important to consider other factors that could be affecting your menstrual cycle and causing your symptoms. Stress, changes in weight, hormonal imbalances, and other health issues can all lead to missed periods and nausea.
If your period does not arrive soon, I recommend taking another pregnancy test for confirmation. If you continue to experience symptoms like nausea or if your period remains absent, it would be wise to consult with a healthcare provider. They can perform a more sensitive blood test to determine if you are pregnant and can also evaluate other potential causes for your symptoms.

In terms of your concerns about your body, it’s common for people to feel uncertain about changes in their physical appearance, especially when they are anxious about pregnancy. The "swimming ring" effect you describe when sitting down could be due to normal body fat distribution rather than pregnancy. Early pregnancy can cause some bloating and changes in the abdomen, but these changes can also be attributed to other factors such as diet, fluid retention, or digestive issues.

It’s crucial to take care of your mental health during this time. Anxiety can exacerbate physical symptoms and lead to a cycle of worry. Engaging in relaxation techniques, such as deep breathing exercises, meditation, or gentle physical activity, can help alleviate some of the stress you are feeling.
If you find that your anxiety is overwhelming or persistent, it might be beneficial to speak with a mental health professional. They can provide support and coping strategies to help you manage your feelings during this uncertain time.

In summary, while your symptoms may raise concerns about pregnancy, they could also be related to other health issues or stress. Taking another pregnancy test and consulting with a healthcare provider will provide clarity. Remember to prioritize your mental well-being and seek support if needed. You are not alone in this experience, and there are resources available to help you navigate your concerns.
