I would like to know which day intercourse can lead to conception?

Hello, doctor.
My first day of menstruation was on June 27, and it ended on July 1.
I visited the hospital on August 4, where my gestational age was determined to be 5 weeks and 2 days.
I had sexual intercourse on July 3, July 10, and July 13.
Could you please help me determine which day of intercourse is more likely to have resulted in my pregnancy? Thank you for your assistance.
Additional information: As of today, August 28, my gestational age is 8 weeks and 5 days.

Xiao Qi, 20~29 year old female. Ask Date: 2022/08/28

To determine the likely conception date based on your menstrual cycle and sexual activity, we need to consider a few key factors: the length of your menstrual cycle, the timing of ovulation, and the days you engaged in sexual intercourse.

Typically, a standard menstrual cycle lasts about 28 days, but it can vary from person to person, ranging from 21 to 35 days. Ovulation usually occurs around 14 days before the start of your next period. In your case, if June 27 was the first day of your menstrual period and it lasted until July 1, we can estimate your ovulation date.

Assuming a regular 28-day cycle, ovulation would likely occur around July 11. This is the day when an egg is released from the ovary and is available for fertilization. Sperm can survive in the female reproductive tract for up to five days, so any sexual activity that occurs in the days leading up to ovulation can potentially result in conception.

You mentioned having sexual intercourse on July 3, July 10, and July 13. Here’s how these dates align with your ovulation:
1. July 3: This is eight days before your estimated ovulation date. While it is possible for sperm from this encounter to survive until ovulation, it is less likely compared to intercourse that occurs closer to the ovulation date.

2. July 10: This date is one day before your estimated ovulation. This encounter is quite likely to result in conception, as sperm can be present in the reproductive tract when the egg is released.

3. July 13: This date is two days after your estimated ovulation. While there is a possibility of conception, it is less likely since the egg is viable for about 12-24 hours post-ovulation.

Given this information, the most likely date of conception would be from the sexual activity on July 10, as it is closest to your ovulation date.
Now, regarding your current pregnancy status, you mentioned that as of August 28, your pregnancy week is 8+5. This means you are approximately 8 weeks and 5 days pregnant, which aligns with a conception date around July 10.
In summary, based on your menstrual cycle and the timing of your sexual activity, it is most probable that you conceived around July 10. If you have any further questions or concerns about your pregnancy, it is always best to consult with your healthcare provider for personalized advice and care.
