Dear Dr.

I have been suffering from these symptoms for over three years, and they have progressively worsened, leaving me physically and mentally exhausted and in great distress.
Due to space limitations, I will only describe the symptoms as follows:
1.
My neck muscles involuntarily contract, causing my neck to become abnormally stiff and tilt to the left.
The more I try to reposition it, the stiffer it becomes, making it increasingly difficult to turn my neck.

When I am at home or alone, the symptoms are milder.
However, when I come into contact with strangers, I become inexplicably anxious, and the affected area trembles and stiffens, making it impossible to stabilize.

The symptoms can be alleviated when I take sedatives or consume alcohol, but the effectiveness diminishes over time.
4.
During emotional distress, the symptoms become unusually stable.
5.
Currently, my neck continues to experience recurrent inflammation and pain, and I often feel numbness in my face and hands.
I have undergone several tests (including for tremor-related paralysis and hyperthyroidism), all of which have ruled out potential causes.
Recently, I received a report suggesting possible autonomic nervous system dysfunction, but there has been no effective treatment.
