Drug side effects

Hello Dr.
Chen,
I have been diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and have experienced a delay in my menstrual cycle, which led me to seek consultation in obstetrics and gynecology.
After the consultation, the physician prescribed EYZU F.C.
TABLETS and FUAN TABLETS 5MG, to be taken twice a day, with two tablets each time.
I would like to inquire about the side effects of these two medications.
Could they cause increased emotional fluctuations or weight gain? Since my diagnosis of PCOS, I was classified as overweight, but I have managed to lose weight and bring my BMI to a normal range.
I am concerned that regaining weight could exacerbate my PCOS symptoms.

When managing Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), medications such as EYZU F.C. Tablets and FUAN Tablets are often prescribed to help regulate menstrual cycles and manage symptoms. Understanding the potential side effects of these medications is crucial for patients, especially those who have concerns about weight gain and emotional fluctuations.

EYZU F.C. Tablets typically contain a combination of ingredients aimed at regulating hormonal levels and improving ovulatory function. Common side effects may include nausea, headaches, dizziness, and mood changes. Some patients report experiencing emotional fluctuations, which can be attributed to hormonal changes induced by the medication. It’s important to monitor these changes and discuss them with your healthcare provider, as they can provide guidance on managing these symptoms.

FUAN Tablets, on the other hand, are often used to address issues related to hormonal imbalance and may also have side effects such as gastrointestinal disturbances, headaches, and potential weight changes. Weight gain is a concern for many patients with PCOS, as the condition itself is associated with insulin resistance and metabolic issues. While FUAN Tablets may not directly cause significant weight gain, any medication that alters hormonal balance can potentially influence weight, particularly if it affects appetite or metabolism.

Regarding your specific concerns about emotional fluctuations and weight gain, it is essential to recognize that both medications can impact your body’s hormonal environment. Emotional changes may occur due to the adjustment of hormone levels, and some individuals may experience increased sensitivity or mood swings. If you notice significant changes in your mood, it’s advisable to communicate this with your healthcare provider, who may adjust your treatment plan accordingly.

As for weight management, it’s commendable that you have successfully achieved a BMI within the normal range. Maintaining a healthy weight is particularly important for individuals with PCOS, as excess weight can exacerbate symptoms and lead to further complications. While medications can assist in managing PCOS, lifestyle factors such as diet and exercise play a critical role in long-term management. A balanced diet rich in whole foods, regular physical activity, and stress management techniques can help mitigate the risk of weight gain associated with hormonal treatments.

In summary, while EYZU F.C. Tablets and FUAN Tablets can be effective in managing PCOS symptoms, they may come with side effects, including emotional fluctuations and potential weight changes. It’s vital to maintain open communication with your healthcare provider about any side effects you experience, as they can help tailor your treatment plan to minimize these effects. Additionally, focusing on a healthy lifestyle can support your overall well-being and help manage PCOS more effectively. Always consult with your healthcare provider before making any changes to your medication or lifestyle to ensure that your approach is safe and effective for your specific situation.
