The presence of yellow spherical foreign objects in the stool?
Hello: My stools are usually loose, mushy, and watery, averaging at least 3 to 5 times a day.
About three months ago, I experienced bright red blood in my stool, which lasted intermittently for about two weeks.
Since then, there has been little bleeding, but I have started to experience pain in the anus after bowel movements (the pain only occurs after bowel movements and not at other times).
I can also feel a lump at the anal opening, and sometimes I feel like I haven't completely emptied my bowels after a bowel movement.
Recently, I noticed that sometimes there are 1 to 3 yellow, round, ball-like objects in my stool, about 1 cm in diameter.
They have a smooth surface and are very round but slightly flattened, resembling a smaller version of an egg yolk.
When I try to flatten them, the inside is white.
What could these be? Is my anal pain due to hemorrhoids?

Based on your description, it sounds like you are experiencing a combination of gastrointestinal and possibly anorectal issues. The presence of yellow round objects in your stool, along with the symptoms of rectal pain and the sensation of incomplete evacuation, raises several possibilities that should be explored further.
Firstly, the yellow round objects you are observing could be several things. One possibility is that they are undigested food particles, particularly if you have been consuming foods that are high in fat or fiber. Sometimes, certain foods can pass through the digestive system without being fully broken down, leading to the appearance of unusual shapes or colors in the stool. However, given the specific characteristics you described—smooth, round, and somewhat resembling a smaller version of an egg yolk—there may be other explanations.
Another possibility is that these yellow objects could be related to the presence of mucus or even small gallstones, especially if you have a history of digestive issues. Mucus can sometimes be present in the stool, particularly if there is inflammation in the intestines, which can occur with conditions like irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) or infections. If the objects are indeed gallstones, they would typically be associated with other symptoms such as abdominal pain, particularly in the upper right quadrant, nausea, or changes in appetite.
Regarding the rectal pain you are experiencing, it is indeed possible that this could be related to hemorrhoids, especially if you have had episodes of bright red blood in your stool. Hemorrhoids can cause pain during bowel movements, a feeling of fullness, and sometimes the sensation of a lump or "meatball" at the anal opening. The fact that you mentioned a "meatball" that you can feel at the anal area suggests the possibility of an external hemorrhoid or even a thrombosed hemorrhoid, which can be quite painful.
In addition to hemorrhoids, other conditions such as anal fissures (small tears in the lining of the anus) could also cause pain after bowel movements. Fissures can lead to sharp pain during and after passing stool, and they may also result in bleeding. Given that you have experienced bright red blood in your stool, it is essential to consider these possibilities seriously.
Considering the duration and nature of your symptoms, it is crucial to seek medical attention. A healthcare provider can perform a thorough examination, which may include a digital rectal exam or even a colonoscopy, to rule out any serious underlying conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), colorectal polyps, or even cancer, especially given your history of blood in the stool.
In summary, while the yellow round objects in your stool could be benign, the combination of rectal pain, the sensation of incomplete evacuation, and the previous episodes of blood in your stool warrant a comprehensive evaluation by a healthcare professional. Early diagnosis and treatment are key to managing any potential issues effectively. Please do not hesitate to reach out to a gastroenterologist or your primary care physician for further evaluation and guidance.
