Which hospitals in Keelung offer UVB 311 and Bluepoint phototherapy treatments?
I am a vitiligo patient living in Keelung.
Currently, I am receiving UVB 311 and Bluepoint phototherapy at National Taiwan University Hospital.
I would like to know where I can receive this type of treatment in Keelung.
Many of my fellow vitiligo patients come from other areas for treatment at NTU, including places like Keelung, Hsinchu, and Taoyuan.
Is there a website that provides information on phototherapy locations so that everyone can access nearby medical care and avoid the hassle of traveling?

Dr. Chen Yiying reply Dermatology
Hello, in response to your inquiry, our hospital has currently introduced the UVB 311 phototherapy device, which will be available for use once the acceptance testing is completed (Blue Point currently does not have this device).
You may register at the dermatology outpatient clinic starting in November, and you can also provide your treatment dosage from National Taiwan University to facilitate the arrangement of your therapy.
Thank you for your suggestion; we will recommend that the Dermatological Society's website provide relevant information for everyone's reference.

Finding UVB311 and Bluepoint light therapy options in Keelung can be a bit challenging, especially for patients with vitiligo seeking convenient treatment locations. As you mentioned, you are currently receiving treatment at National Taiwan University (NTU), which is a reputable facility for dermatological therapies, including phototherapy for skin conditions like vitiligo.
In Keelung, there are a few potential avenues you can explore to find UVB311 and Bluepoint light therapy:
1. Local Dermatology Clinics: Start by checking with local dermatology clinics in Keelung. Many dermatologists may offer phototherapy treatments, including narrowband UVB therapy (UVB311). You can call ahead to inquire if they have the specific equipment and treatment protocols you need.
2. Hospitals: Larger hospitals in Keelung, such as Keelung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital or Keelung Municipal Hospital, may have dermatology departments that offer phototherapy. It’s advisable to contact them directly to ask about the availability of UVB311 and Bluepoint light therapy.
3. Support Groups and Forums: Joining support groups for vitiligo patients can be beneficial. These groups often share information about treatment locations and experiences. Websites like Facebook or local health forums may have groups where patients discuss their treatment options and share recommendations for clinics or hospitals.
4. Online Resources: While there may not be a specific website dedicated to listing phototherapy locations, you can search for dermatology associations in Taiwan that might provide resources or directories of clinics offering specialized treatments. The Taiwan Dermatological Association could be a starting point.
5. Referrals from Your Current Provider: Since you are currently being treated at NTU, consider asking your dermatologist for referrals to clinics or hospitals in Keelung that offer similar treatments. They may have partnerships or know of facilities that provide the necessary therapies.
6. Telemedicine Options: Some clinics may offer telemedicine consultations where you can discuss your treatment needs and get recommendations for local facilities. This can save you time and help you find the right place without having to travel extensively.
7. Patient Advocacy Organizations: Organizations focused on skin conditions, such as the Vitiligo Support International, may have resources or contacts in Taiwan that can help you locate nearby treatment options.
In conclusion, while it may take some effort to find UVB311 and Bluepoint light therapy in Keelung, utilizing local resources, contacting hospitals and clinics directly, and engaging with patient communities can significantly aid your search. It’s essential to ensure that any facility you consider is equipped with the proper technology and has qualified professionals to provide the treatment safely and effectively. Good luck with your search, and I hope you find a convenient location for your ongoing treatment!
