Can I get pregnant? And there is a lot of discharge?
Hello, doctor.
I would like to ask about my last menstrual period, which was from October 25 to 31, with a cycle of approximately 34 days.
I had sexual intercourse on November 4 (we used a condom, but since it was our first time, we only succeeded for a brief moment and did not continue).
According to my calendar, ovulation is expected on November 14 (with the ovulation period from November 9 to 18).
I started noticing an increase in discharge on November 15, which was clear and watery.
I confirmed my pregnancy on November 16, and I found online that increased discharge can also occur with a positive pregnancy test.
I am unsure if the increased discharge is due to ovulation or the pregnancy confirmation, as I usually experience symptoms like breast pain, abdominal bloating, lower back pain, and increased discharge during ovulation (but the discharge only lasts a few days).
However, this month, I haven't felt much.
I would like to know if the sexual intercourse on November 4 could lead to pregnancy, and whether the increased discharge (which has lasted for four days now) is primarily due to ovulation or the pregnancy.
I used ovulation test strips on November 15, 16, and 17, and on November 15, the test line was very faint, on November 16, it darkened but was still not as dark as the control line, and on November 17, it faded again.
Does this indicate that ovulation has occurred? This is my first inquiry, and I apologize if my explanation is a bit disorganized.
I am feeling anxious as I cannot sense the ovulation signs and am worried about the possibility of being pregnant.

Hello, it should be related to ovulation; just observe it.
Wishing you good health.

More Info
It sounds like you have several concerns regarding your menstrual cycle, potential pregnancy, and the signs of ovulation. Let's break down your situation and address your questions.
Based on your menstrual cycle, which typically lasts around 34 days, your last period started on October 25 and ended on October 31. If we consider a 34-day cycle, your next expected period would be around November 28. You mentioned having sexual intercourse on November 4, which is just a few days before your estimated ovulation window (November 9-18). Given that sperm can live inside the female reproductive tract for up to five days, there is a possibility that sperm from the intercourse on November 4 could still be viable when you ovulate.
Regarding the discharge you are experiencing, it is common to have an increase in cervical mucus during ovulation. This mucus is typically clear and stretchy, resembling egg whites, which is a sign that your body is preparing for potential conception. The fact that you noticed this type of discharge starting on November 15 aligns with your expected ovulation period. The absence of typical ovulation symptoms, such as breast tenderness or abdominal discomfort, can vary from cycle to cycle. Not every woman experiences these symptoms consistently, so it is not unusual for you to feel different this month.
You also mentioned using ovulation test strips on November 15, 16, and 17. The results you described indicate that you were likely approaching ovulation on November 15, with the test line becoming darker on November 16, suggesting that ovulation may have occurred around that time. The fading line on November 17 could indicate that ovulation has already taken place.
Now, regarding your concerns about whether you could be pregnant: since you had unprotected intercourse during your fertile window, there is a possibility of pregnancy. However, the only way to confirm this is through a pregnancy test. If you take a home pregnancy test, it is best to do so after your expected period date for the most accurate result. If you test too early, you may receive a false negative.
In summary, the increased discharge you are experiencing is likely related to ovulation, especially since it coincides with your fertile window. However, since you had unprotected intercourse during this time, there is a chance of pregnancy. If your period does not arrive by the end of November, consider taking a pregnancy test for confirmation. If you have any further concerns or if your symptoms change, it would be wise to consult with a healthcare provider for personalized advice and support.
