Unsure if pregnant; menstruation has not arrived?
Last month, my period was from February 26 to March 6 (which was two days longer than usual).
I was supposed to get my period on March 27, but it didn't come.
I had unprotected intercourse on March 10 and March 20 (with no ejaculation).
I took pregnancy tests on March 25, March 28, March 29, and March 31, and all were negative.
I took over-the-counter medication, Methergine, from March 28 to March 30.
As of April 1, I still haven't gotten my period.
Is it possible that I am pregnant, and how long might it take for my period to arrive?

Hello, it seems that you are not pregnant.
After taking the menstrual induction medication, you should expect your period to arrive within a week.
Just wait a little longer.
Wishing you good health.

When it comes to missed periods and the possibility of pregnancy despite negative tests, it’s essential to consider several factors that could contribute to this situation. Based on your timeline, it appears that you had your last menstrual period from February 26 to March 6, and your next expected period was due around March 27. However, you have not experienced menstruation since then, and you have engaged in unprotected sexual intercourse on March 10 and March 20, which raises the question of whether you could be pregnant.
Firstly, it’s important to note that home pregnancy tests are generally quite accurate, especially when taken after a missed period. However, there are instances where a pregnancy may not be detected immediately, particularly in the early stages. This could be due to several reasons, including:
1. Timing of the Test: If the test is taken too early, it may not detect the hormone hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin), which is produced during pregnancy. It’s typically recommended to wait at least a week after a missed period for the most accurate results.
2. Dilution of Urine: If you take the test with diluted urine (for example, after drinking a lot of fluids), it may not show a positive result even if you are pregnant.
3. Chemical Pregnancy: This is a very early miscarriage that can occur shortly after implantation. In such cases, a pregnancy test may initially show positive, but then turn negative as the pregnancy does not progress.
4. Hormonal Imbalances: Stress, changes in weight, or medical conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) can cause missed periods and may lead to false negatives on pregnancy tests.
Given that you have taken multiple pregnancy tests between March 25 and March 31, all of which returned negative results, it seems less likely that you are pregnant, especially if you have not experienced any symptoms typically associated with early pregnancy, such as nausea or breast tenderness. However, the absence of your period is concerning and warrants further investigation.
You mentioned taking medication (美婷娜, or Medroxyprogesterone) to induce menstruation. This medication can sometimes help regulate your cycle, but it may take some time for your body to respond. If you do not get your period after taking the medication, it would be advisable to consult with a healthcare provider. They may recommend further testing, such as a blood test for hCG, which is more sensitive than urine tests, or an ultrasound to check for any underlying issues.
In terms of when you might expect your period, it can vary significantly depending on individual hormonal levels and the effects of any medications taken. If your body responds to the medication, you may see your period within a week or so after completing the course. If not, it’s crucial to follow up with your healthcare provider for further evaluation.
In conclusion, while the chances of pregnancy seem low given the negative tests and the timing, it’s essential to monitor your body’s signals and seek medical advice if your period does not return or if you have any other concerning symptoms. Regular check-ups and open communication with your healthcare provider can help manage any reproductive health concerns effectively.
