Is it possible to get pregnant this way?
Hello doctor, I went to the gynecologist for an ultrasound on the 17th day after sexual intercourse, and it showed that I was not pregnant.
Then, 25 days after sexual intercourse, I went to the gynecologist again for a pregnancy test and ultrasound, which also indicated that I was not pregnant.
I saw the doctor 10 days and 18 days after my period was late, but my menstrual cycle is not very regular.
During my second visit to the gynecologist, I was prescribed medication to induce menstruation, and I am almost finished taking it.
I would like to know if there is still a possibility of being pregnant, as I am quite worried about not having my period.
This is the first time I have encountered this situation.

Hello, it seems that you are not pregnant.
After taking the menstrual induction medication, your period should arrive within a week.
Just wait and see.
Wishing you good health.

More Info
It sounds like you're going through a challenging situation regarding your menstrual cycle and the possibility of pregnancy. Based on the information you've provided, you've had two ultrasounds that indicated no pregnancy, and you've also taken medication to induce your period. Let's break down your concerns and provide some clarity.
Firstly, it's important to understand that a negative ultrasound result typically indicates that there is no visible pregnancy at that time. In early pregnancy, especially around the time of your missed period, a transvaginal ultrasound is often the most sensitive method for detecting a gestational sac and, subsequently, a fetal pole. If both ultrasounds were performed at appropriate times and showed no signs of pregnancy, it is unlikely that you are pregnant.
However, there are a few factors to consider:
1. Timing of Ultrasounds: The timing of your ultrasounds in relation to your ovulation and potential conception is crucial. If you had intercourse after ovulation but before your period was due, and the ultrasounds were performed too early, it might not have been possible to detect a pregnancy. Generally, a pregnancy can be detected via ultrasound about 5-6 weeks after the last menstrual period, depending on the individual.
2. Menstrual Irregularities: You mentioned that your menstrual cycle is not very regular. Irregular cycles can make it difficult to predict ovulation and the timing of your period. This irregularity can sometimes lead to confusion about whether you are pregnant or if your period is simply delayed.
3. Use of Medications: You mentioned taking medication to induce your period. If your healthcare provider prescribed this medication, it is likely intended to help regulate your cycle. If your period starts after completing the medication, it may indicate that you were not pregnant, as the body typically will not menstruate if a pregnancy is present.
4. Possibility of Pregnancy: While the chances of pregnancy after two negative ultrasounds are low, it is not impossible, especially if there were any errors in timing or if the ultrasounds were performed too early. If your menstrual cycle remains irregular or if you continue to have concerns, it may be beneficial to follow up with your healthcare provider for further evaluation.
5. Next Steps: If your period does not arrive after completing the medication, or if you continue to have symptoms that make you suspect pregnancy (such as nausea, breast tenderness, or fatigue), it would be advisable to take a home pregnancy test. If the test is negative and your period still does not come, you should consult your healthcare provider for further assessment. They may recommend additional testing or a different approach to managing your menstrual cycle.
In conclusion, while the likelihood of pregnancy after two negative ultrasounds is low, it is essential to monitor your body and communicate with your healthcare provider. They can provide personalized advice based on your medical history and current situation. Remember, it's always best to seek professional guidance when it comes to reproductive health concerns.
