Will this lead to pregnancy?
The last menstrual period was on May 18, and the current one started on June 10.
On June 16, it ended, and on June 17, my boyfriend briefly placed his penis at the entrance of my vagina (without a condom for about 2-3 seconds) without penetration.
As soon as I realized, I quickly pushed him away because I had some discharge and was worried that his pre-ejaculate fluid might enter.
I would like to know if this could lead to pregnancy.

The concern about the possibility of pregnancy from brief contact without penetration is a common one, especially among individuals who are cautious about unintended pregnancies. To address your question directly: yes, it is possible, though the likelihood is relatively low.
When it comes to the mechanics of conception, pregnancy occurs when sperm fertilizes an egg. Sperm can be present in pre-ejaculatory fluid (pre-cum), which is released before ejaculation. Even though the amount of sperm in pre-ejaculatory fluid is generally lower than in ejaculate, it can still contain viable sperm capable of fertilizing an egg. Therefore, if there was any contact between the pre-ejaculatory fluid and the vaginal area, there is a potential risk of pregnancy, albeit small.
In your specific situation, the brief contact you described—where the male partner's genitalia were placed near the vaginal opening for a few seconds—does pose a risk, especially since you mentioned that you have vaginal secretions. If any sperm from the pre-ejaculatory fluid made its way into the vaginal canal, there is a possibility of pregnancy. However, the risk is significantly reduced compared to full penetration.
To further clarify, several factors influence the likelihood of pregnancy in such scenarios:
1. Timing of Ovulation: If this contact occurred close to your ovulation period (the time when an egg is released from the ovary), the chances of pregnancy increase. Ovulation typically occurs about 14 days before the start of your next menstrual period in a regular cycle.
2. Sperm Viability: Sperm can live inside the female reproductive tract for up to five days under optimal conditions. If you were ovulating or close to ovulation at the time of contact, the chances of sperm fertilizing an egg increase.
3. Menstrual Cycle Regularity: If you have a regular menstrual cycle, tracking your ovulation can help you better understand your fertility window. If your cycles are irregular, it may be more challenging to predict ovulation.
4. Use of Contraception: If you are not using any form of contraception, even brief contact can lead to pregnancy. If you are concerned about unintended pregnancy, consider discussing contraceptive options with a healthcare provider.
If you are worried about the possibility of pregnancy, the best course of action is to take a home pregnancy test if your period is late or if you experience any early signs of pregnancy. These tests are generally accurate and can provide peace of mind.
In conclusion, while the risk of pregnancy from brief contact without penetration is low, it is not zero. If you are actively trying to avoid pregnancy, it is advisable to use reliable contraception consistently. If you have further concerns or questions about your reproductive health, consulting with a healthcare provider can provide personalized guidance and support.
