There is a hard lump in the breast?
About five weeks ago, after having intercourse with my girlfriend during her menstrual period, she took a pregnancy test about 13 days later, which came back negative.
Recently, she has noticed a slight hardness in the upper right side of her breast, and it is only on one side.
Could this indicate pregnancy, or is her period approaching?

Hello, it seems that you are not pregnant.
Wait another week, and if your period still hasn't arrived, it is advisable to see a gynecologist.
Wishing you good health.

Breast hardness can be a common concern for many women, especially during different phases of their menstrual cycle or during pregnancy. In your girlfriend's case, the hardness she is experiencing in her right breast could be attributed to several factors, including hormonal changes related to her menstrual cycle or early signs of pregnancy.
Firstly, it is essential to understand that breast tissue is highly responsive to hormonal fluctuations. During the menstrual cycle, particularly in the luteal phase (the time between ovulation and the start of menstruation), levels of estrogen and progesterone rise. These hormones can cause the breast tissue to swell and feel tender or hard. This phenomenon is often referred to as cyclical mastalgia, which is common and usually resolves once menstruation begins.
In your girlfriend's situation, since she experienced breast hardness around the time of her expected period, it is plausible that this is a premenstrual symptom. However, it is also important to consider the possibility of pregnancy. If she had unprotected intercourse around the time of ovulation, there is a chance that she could be pregnant. The negative pregnancy test taken 13 days after intercourse indicates that it may have been too early to detect pregnancy, as implantation typically occurs about 6 to 10 days after ovulation, and pregnancy tests are most accurate when taken after a missed period.
If your girlfriend's period is delayed, it would be advisable for her to take another pregnancy test a few days after her expected period date. This will provide a more accurate result. Additionally, if she continues to experience breast hardness, tenderness, or any other unusual symptoms, it would be wise for her to consult a healthcare provider for further evaluation.
In summary, the hardness in your girlfriend's breast could be due to hormonal changes associated with her menstrual cycle, especially if her period is approaching. However, if there is a possibility of pregnancy, it is essential to wait for a few more days and retest or consult a healthcare professional for a more definitive answer. Monitoring her symptoms and being aware of any changes will also help in understanding her condition better.
