Premature ejaculation self-defense?
Doctor, I have had a habit of masturbating almost every day from seventh grade to senior high school.
Suddenly, one day I ejaculated in less than three minutes.
After finishing on August 15, I noticed I kept needing to go to the bathroom.
So, after a day of not masturbating, I did it again the day after and ejaculated in less than two minutes.
Is this premature ejaculation? I didn't have this issue before.
After summer vacation, I started going to bed late, drank a lot of sugary drinks, and very little water.
I was exercising in July and early August, but then I stopped.
Could this have an impact?

Dr. Sun Hongshun reply Urology
Hello, Wu: After receiving the vaccination on August 15, you may notice an increased frequency of urination.
Please pay special attention to any signs of urinary tract or prostate infections.
If an infection occurs, it could potentially affect your performance, but try not to worry excessively.
Additionally, going to bed early, staying hydrated, and exercising regularly can help you maintain your overall health!

Premature ejaculation (PE) is a common concern among young men, and it can be particularly distressing for those who are still navigating the complexities of puberty and sexual health. Your experience of experiencing a sudden change in ejaculation timing, especially after a period of frequent masturbation, is not uncommon.
Firstly, it's important to understand that ejaculation timing can be influenced by a variety of factors, including psychological stress, physical health, and lifestyle choices. In your case, the changes you've noticed could be attributed to several potential causes:
1. Psychological Factors: Anxiety or stress can significantly impact sexual performance. If you are feeling pressured or anxious about sexual experiences, this could lead to premature ejaculation. The transition from middle school to high school can be a stressful time, and any underlying anxiety about sexual performance or relationships can exacerbate this issue.
2. Physical Health: Changes in your physical health, including fatigue or lack of exercise, can also play a role. You mentioned that you had been exercising regularly but stopped during the summer. Regular physical activity is not only beneficial for overall health but can also improve sexual function. Exercise helps to reduce stress, improve mood, and enhance blood flow, all of which are important for sexual health.
3. Hydration and Diet: You noted that you were drinking a lot of beverages but not enough water. Dehydration can affect your overall physical performance, including sexual function. Additionally, a balanced diet is crucial for maintaining energy levels and hormonal balance, which can influence sexual health.
4. Frequency of Masturbation: Frequent masturbation can lead to temporary changes in sexual response. If you were engaging in this activity daily, your body may have adjusted to a certain rhythm, and a sudden change in frequency or technique could lead to variations in ejaculation timing.
5. Hormonal Changes: As you are still in your teenage years, your body is undergoing significant hormonal changes. These fluctuations can affect sexual function, including ejaculation timing.
Given these factors, it’s possible that your experience of premature ejaculation is temporary and related to lifestyle changes rather than a chronic condition. Here are some suggestions to help manage this situation:
- Practice Relaxation Techniques: Engage in activities that reduce stress, such as deep breathing exercises, meditation, or yoga. These can help alleviate anxiety related to sexual performance.
- Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle: Continue to incorporate regular exercise into your routine, eat a balanced diet, and ensure you are well-hydrated. This will not only improve your overall health but also support your sexual health.
- Gradual Approach: If you find that you are experiencing premature ejaculation, consider practicing techniques such as the "stop-start" method or the "squeeze" technique during masturbation. These methods can help you gain better control over your ejaculation.
- Consult a Healthcare Professional: If the issue persists or worsens, it may be beneficial to speak with a healthcare provider or a therapist who specializes in sexual health. They can provide personalized advice and support.
In conclusion, while experiencing premature ejaculation can be concerning, it is often a temporary issue influenced by various factors. By addressing lifestyle habits, managing stress, and seeking professional guidance if necessary, you can work towards regaining control over your sexual health. Remember, open communication with a trusted adult or healthcare provider can also provide reassurance and support during this developmental stage.
