Glans penis hard lump
Hello, I have a question I would like to ask.
I noticed that after frequent masturbation over the past few days, a round hard lump appears near the glans of my penis (it is more noticeable when erect), and that area feels numb.
However, after resting for a few days, the lump decreases in size, but it reappears when I start masturbating again.
I visited a general urologist, but they did not feel the lump (I have phimosis, and the doctor pulled back the foreskin to examine).
When I pointed out the area, they were able to feel it.
The doctor told me that this is likely lymphadenopathy and that it would resolve with rest.
However, I am concerned—can lymphadenopathy be hard and round? I am really afraid it might be penile cancer.
I have consulted several doctors, including family medicine and urology, but they all said they did not feel anything abnormal.
The doctor reassured me that my penis is healthy, but I need to consider circumcision for the phimosis.
Still, I am very anxious and would like to ask what I should do.
The lump is located near the frenulum and the glans.

Hello: Based on your situation, penile cancer may present as a lump that may or may not be palpable at times.
If a urologist has already examined you, then observation is appropriate.
Wishing you good health.

More Info
It sounds like you're experiencing some concerning symptoms regarding the hard lump on your penis, particularly after frequent masturbation. It's understandable to feel anxious about this, especially with the fear of serious conditions like penile cancer. Let's break down your concerns and provide some clarity.
Understanding the Hard Lump
1. Possible Causes: The hard lump you're describing could be due to several benign conditions. One common cause is lymphadenopathy, which is the enlargement of lymph nodes. This can occur in response to various stimuli, including frequent sexual activity or irritation. Another possibility is Peyronie's disease, which involves the development of fibrous scar tissue inside the penis, leading to lumps and curvature. However, this typically presents with pain and changes in erection, which you haven't mentioned.
2. Symptoms of Concern: The fact that the lump becomes more prominent during an erection and diminishes with rest suggests that it may be related to increased blood flow or pressure in the area. If the lump is hard and round, it could also be a sebaceous cyst, which is a harmless growth that can occur in the genital area.
3. Lymph Node Enlargement: Your doctor mentioned lymph node enlargement, which can indeed feel firm or hard. Lymph nodes can swell in response to infections, inflammation, or other stimuli. While they are typically not painful, they can feel tender or cause a sensation of numbness if they are pressing against nearby structures.
Medical Evaluation
1. Consultation with Specialists: Since you've already seen multiple doctors, including urologists, and they did not find anything alarming, it’s a good sign. However, if your anxiety persists, consider seeking a second opinion from a urologist who specializes in male sexual health. They may perform a more thorough examination or suggest imaging studies if necessary.
2. Physical Examination: A physical examination is crucial. If the lump is not consistently palpable during examinations, it may be challenging for doctors to diagnose it accurately. Documenting when the lump appears and any associated symptoms can help your healthcare provider understand the pattern.
Management and Care
1. Rest and Observation: Since you noted that the lump decreases in size with rest, it may be beneficial to take breaks from activities that exacerbate the condition. This includes reducing the frequency of masturbation until the lump resolves completely.
2. Hygiene and Care: Maintaining good hygiene, especially if you have phimosis (tight foreskin), is essential. If your doctor has recommended circumcision, it may help prevent irritation and recurrent issues.
3. Anxiety Management: It's natural to feel anxious about health concerns, especially in sensitive areas. Engaging in stress-reducing activities, such as exercise, meditation, or talking to a mental health professional, can be beneficial.
Conclusion
While it’s understandable to worry about serious conditions like penile cancer, the symptoms you describe are more likely related to benign causes, especially given the reassurance from multiple healthcare providers. However, if the lump persists, changes, or if you develop new symptoms (such as pain, discharge, or changes in urination), it’s essential to seek further medical evaluation. Always trust your instincts; if something feels off, don’t hesitate to pursue further investigation. Your health and peace of mind are paramount.
