Recovery issues after Simle Pro laser surgery?

I would like to ask the doctor, I recently underwent myopia laser correction (Simle pro) at the clinic.
During my follow-up appointment four days post-surgery, my left eye's vision has returned to 1.0, while my right eye is still below 0.5.
The machine's refraction showed 25 degrees for the left eye and 100 degrees for the right eye.
With corrective glasses for 100 degrees, my right eye can barely reach 1.0, but it is noticeably blurrier than the left eye.
During the follow-up examination, it was mentioned that the wound in my right eye has swollen cells and that I need to wait for the swelling to subside for normal vision to return.
Is this explanation reasonable? Additionally, the clinic has prescribed NOFOXIN eye drops to reduce swelling in the right eye; will this be effective? I am very anxious because my right eye's vision remains blurry, so I am seeking the doctor's opinion.
Thank you.

Hello: Based on your description, you are currently in the recovery period following Simple Pro laser vision correction for myopia.
At four days post-operation, your left eye's vision has returned to 1.0, while your right eye is still below 0.5, with the machine refraction showing 25 degrees for the left eye and 100 degrees for the right eye.
Firstly, it is normal to experience some variation in vision recovery during the early postoperative period.
The right eye's vision being below 0.5, along with a machine refraction of 100 degrees, may be related to corneal edema or other factors.
The physician noted that there is swelling of the wound cells in the right eye, and normalcy will return after the swelling subsides, which is a reasonable explanation.
Corneal edema can affect vision, but over time, the swelling is expected to gradually decrease, and vision should progressively improve.
As for NOFOXIN eye drops, they are used to prevent infection.
If you are currently feeling anxious and your right eye's vision remains blurry, I recommend that you continue to follow the treatment plan provided by your physician and return for follow-up examinations as scheduled.
If you have any concerns or discomfort during the treatment process, please contact your ophthalmologist immediately for timely assistance.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.

After undergoing Simle Pro laser eye surgery, it is not uncommon to experience varying degrees of recovery between the two eyes. In your case, it appears that your left eye has recovered well, achieving a vision of 1.0, while your right eye is still struggling with a vision of less than 0.5. This discrepancy can be concerning, especially when you are experiencing anxiety about your recovery.

The observation made by your doctor regarding the swelling of the cells at the surgical site in your right eye is a reasonable explanation for the delayed recovery. Post-operative swelling, or corneal edema, can occur after laser eye surgeries and may significantly impact vision. The cornea is a transparent layer at the front of the eye, and any swelling can lead to blurred vision. It is important to understand that the healing process can vary from person to person, and factors such as the extent of the surgery, individual healing responses, and pre-existing conditions can all play a role.

The use of NOFOXIN eye drops, which are typically prescribed to prevent infection and reduce inflammation, can be beneficial in your case. While these drops primarily target infection prevention, they may also help in managing inflammation, which can contribute to the swelling you are experiencing. However, it is crucial to follow your doctor's instructions regarding the use of these drops and to attend follow-up appointments to monitor your progress.

It is understandable to feel anxious about your vision, especially when one eye is not recovering as expected. However, it is essential to remain patient during the healing process. The first few weeks after surgery are critical, and many patients experience fluctuations in their vision as the eyes heal. In many cases, vision continues to improve over time as the swelling decreases and the cornea stabilizes.

If your right eye's vision does not improve after the expected recovery period, or if you experience any new symptoms such as increased pain, redness, or discharge, it is important to contact your eye care provider immediately. They may need to reassess your condition and determine if additional treatment is necessary.

In summary, the explanation provided by your doctor regarding the swelling and the need for time to heal is reasonable. The use of NOFOXIN eye drops may aid in your recovery, but it is essential to monitor your symptoms closely. If you have ongoing concerns, do not hesitate to reach out to your eye care professional for further guidance. Remember that recovery can take time, and maintaining open communication with your healthcare provider is key to addressing any issues that may arise during your healing process.
