Abnormal bleeding during menstruation?

Hello, starting from April 29, I have been experiencing brown discharge that lasted for 3-4 days, followed by fresh red blood, but the amount is significantly less than usual, lasting about 4 days.
After that, I continued to have brown discharge.
I had sexual intercourse about a month ago, and we used condoms.
Recently, I've been feeling the urge to use the bathroom frequently, my gastrointestinal health has not been great, and I've been experiencing some dull pain.
Additionally, my daily routine has been irregular during this time.
I would like to know if this bleeding could be considered my menstrual period.
I took a pregnancy test yesterday; initially, there was only one line, but after about five minutes, I discarded it, and later it showed two lines.

Abnormal bleeding can be a source of significant concern for many women, and understanding the potential causes and implications of such symptoms is crucial for proper management and peace of mind. Based on the symptoms you've described, it appears that you are experiencing a combination of unusual bleeding patterns, gastrointestinal discomfort, and potential anxiety related to your menstrual cycle and sexual activity.

Firstly, let's break down the symptoms. You mentioned starting with brown discharge for 3-4 days, followed by a small amount of bright red blood, which is less than what you typically experience. This pattern of bleeding can sometimes be indicative of several conditions, including hormonal fluctuations, ovulation bleeding, or even early pregnancy. The presence of brown discharge often suggests older blood, which may be leftover from a previous menstrual cycle or could be related to hormonal changes.

Given that you had sexual intercourse about a month ago and used protection, the likelihood of pregnancy is lower, but not impossible. The fact that you tested for pregnancy and received a positive result after some time could indicate a very early pregnancy. However, it is essential to note that home pregnancy tests can sometimes yield false positives or be affected by other factors, such as hormonal imbalances or certain medications.

The gastrointestinal symptoms you mentioned, such as frequent urges to use the restroom and discomfort, could be related to stress or anxiety, especially if your lifestyle has been irregular recently. Stress can significantly impact menstrual cycles, leading to changes in bleeding patterns, including lighter or more irregular periods. Additionally, gastrointestinal issues can sometimes coincide with hormonal changes, as the gut and hormonal systems are interconnected.

In terms of your menstrual cycle, it is important to consider that many factors can influence it, including stress, changes in routine, diet, and overall health. If your cycle has become irregular or if you are experiencing significant changes in bleeding patterns, it may be beneficial to consult with a healthcare provider. They can perform a thorough evaluation, including a physical examination and possibly blood tests, to assess hormone levels and rule out any underlying conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), thyroid issues, or other reproductive health concerns.

If the bleeding continues or worsens, or if you experience severe pain or other concerning symptoms, it is crucial to seek medical attention promptly. Your healthcare provider may recommend further investigations, such as an ultrasound or additional blood tests, to determine the cause of your symptoms and provide appropriate treatment.

In summary, while your symptoms could be related to a variety of factors, including hormonal changes, stress, or early pregnancy, it is essential to monitor your situation closely. If you have any doubts or if your symptoms persist, do not hesitate to reach out to a healthcare professional for personalized advice and care. Understanding your body and seeking help when needed is vital for maintaining your reproductive health and overall well-being.
