Why Does My Right Testicle Rise Higher Than the Left? - Urology

I find it very strange?

Hello doctor, I have noticed that when I exert myself, only my right testicle moves upward, while the left one does not.
Additionally, the right testicle is positioned higher than the left.
Is this normal? I masturbate about once every 1 to 2 days.

Generally, the heights of both testicles are not exactly the same.
As long as they are both located within the scrotum, slight differences are normal.

It's quite common for men to notice differences in the position and height of their testicles. The phenomenon you're experiencing, where your right testicle rises higher than the left, can be attributed to several factors, and in most cases, it is considered normal.

Firstly, it's important to understand that the anatomy of the male reproductive system is not perfectly symmetrical. Typically, the left testicle hangs lower than the right in many men. This asymmetry is a natural occurrence and is thought to be related to the positioning of the testicular structures, including the spermatic cord and the cremaster muscle, which is responsible for raising and lowering the testicles in response to temperature changes and physical activity.

When you exert yourself, such as during exercise or even during sexual arousal, the cremaster muscle contracts, pulling the testicles closer to the body. If you notice that only your right testicle rises when you exert yourself, it may be due to a stronger contraction of the cremaster muscle on that side or simply the way your anatomy is structured. This is not unusual, and many men experience similar variations.

Regarding your concern about masturbation frequency, it's worth noting that masturbation is a normal sexual activity and, when done in moderation, does not typically have adverse effects on testicular health or function. The act of masturbation itself does not cause the testicles to rise or fall; rather, it may temporarily affect their position due to muscle contractions during arousal.

If you are not experiencing any pain, discomfort, or other unusual symptoms, there is likely no cause for concern. However, if you do notice any significant changes, such as swelling, persistent pain, or any other unusual symptoms, it would be advisable to consult a urologist. They can perform a physical examination and, if necessary, imaging studies to rule out conditions such as varicocele (enlarged veins within the scrotum) or other abnormalities.

In summary, the height difference between your testicles, particularly the right being higher than the left during exertion, is generally normal and can be attributed to individual anatomical variations and muscle contractions. As long as you are not experiencing any pain or discomfort, there is typically no need for concern. However, always listen to your body, and if something feels off, don't hesitate to seek medical advice.
