Penile scleroderma with scaling?
Two weeks ago, I had a severe cold and took medication, which completely diminished my libido.
When I was recovering from the cold, I masturbated once (the duration was longer than before the cold) on June 7.
After fully recovering, I engaged in sexual intercourse and masturbated again on the same day (the total duration was longer than before the cold) on June 8.
Since that day, I've noticed that my penis has areas with different color shades; the darker parts feel rougher than before (almost like being burnt), while some areas appear a soft pink (similar to new skin).
When I wipe, there are flakes of skin coming off, but there is no redness, swelling, or itching.
Both erection and urination are normal, and it seems to be only an external appearance change.
I would like to know if this could be due to prolonged and frequent friction, and what type of medication or ointment would be suitable for this condition.
Thank you.

Understanding changes in penile skin can be concerning, especially when accompanied by alterations in texture and color. Based on your description, it seems that you are experiencing some skin changes that may be attributed to a few potential causes, including friction, irritation, or even a mild dermatological condition.
Firstly, the changes you describe—such as the darker, rougher areas and the pinkish, new skin—could be a result of friction from prolonged sexual activity or masturbation. The skin on the penis is sensitive, and excessive friction can lead to irritation, which may manifest as rough patches or changes in pigmentation. This is particularly true if lubrication was insufficient during these activities. The skin may also peel as part of a natural healing process, especially if it has been subjected to repeated trauma.
Another possibility is that you may be experiencing a mild form of dermatitis, which can occur due to various factors, including irritation from soaps, lotions, or even laundry detergents that come into contact with the genital area. It’s essential to consider any new products you may have used recently that could have contributed to this irritation.
In terms of treatment, the first step is to ensure that you are practicing good hygiene. Gently wash the area with mild, unscented soap and warm water, and avoid any harsh chemicals or fragrances that could exacerbate the irritation. After cleansing, applying a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer can help soothe the skin and prevent further dryness or peeling. Look for products that contain ingredients like aloe vera or hyaluronic acid, which are known for their hydrating properties.
If the symptoms persist or worsen, it may be beneficial to apply a topical steroid cream, such as hydrocortisone, to reduce inflammation and irritation. However, this should be done sparingly and only for a short duration, as prolonged use of steroids can lead to skin thinning and other complications. Always consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new treatment to ensure it is appropriate for your specific situation.
Additionally, if you notice any signs of infection—such as increased redness, swelling, or discharge—or if the skin changes do not improve within a week or two, it is crucial to seek medical attention. A dermatologist can provide a thorough examination and may recommend further treatments, such as prescription creams or ointments, if necessary.
Lastly, to prevent similar issues in the future, consider using a water-based lubricant during sexual activities to reduce friction. Also, allow your skin time to recover between sessions of sexual activity, especially if you notice any discomfort or irritation.
In summary, while the changes you are experiencing may be related to friction and irritation, it is essential to monitor the situation closely. Maintain good hygiene, use gentle moisturizers, and consult a healthcare professional if symptoms persist or worsen. Taking these steps can help ensure the health and comfort of your skin.
