Breast augmentation

Could you please tell me the typical cost of liposuction and breast augmentation surgery? I currently have a size 30A and would like to achieve a size 32C.
Thank you very much!

Dr. Luo Qihua reply Plastic Surgery

Hello: The Taiwanese Society of Plastic Surgery does not encourage breast augmentation using fat grafting from liposuction, as a significant amount of fat implantation can lead to partial fat necrosis and subsequent calcification.
This calcification can interfere with future breast cancer screening assessments.
Given that it is not possible to completely avoid this issue, our hospital, Hsinchu Hospital, currently does not perform this type of surgery.

Breast augmentation with liposuction, often referred to as lipofilling or fat transfer breast augmentation, is a popular cosmetic procedure that involves using fat harvested from other areas of the body to enhance breast volume. The cost of this procedure can vary significantly based on several factors, including the surgeon's experience, the geographic location of the practice, and the complexity of the procedure itself.

Typically, the cost of breast augmentation with liposuction can range from $5,000 to $15,000. This price range includes various components such as the surgeon's fee, anesthesia, facility fees, and post-operative care. For your specific case, where you are looking to go from a size 30A to 32C, the cost may be on the higher end of this spectrum due to the amount of fat that needs to be harvested and the intricacies involved in ensuring a natural look and feel.

When considering this procedure, it is essential to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in breast augmentation. They will assess your body type, discuss your aesthetic goals, and determine the amount of fat that can be safely harvested for transfer. This consultation is crucial not only for understanding the potential costs but also for ensuring that you have realistic expectations regarding the results.

In terms of recovery, patients can generally expect some swelling and bruising in both the donor and recipient areas. Most individuals can return to light activities within a week, but full recovery may take several weeks. It's important to follow your surgeon's post-operative care instructions to ensure optimal healing and results.

Regarding risks, as with any surgical procedure, there are potential complications, including infection, asymmetry, and the possibility of needing additional procedures in the future. However, when performed by a qualified surgeon, the risks are relatively low.

Insurance coverage for breast augmentation with liposuction is typically limited, as this procedure is often considered cosmetic. If you have specific concerns about coverage, it is advisable to check with your insurance provider beforehand.

In summary, the cost of breast augmentation with liposuction can vary widely, and for your desired outcome, you should expect to invest a significant amount. Consulting with a qualified plastic surgeon will provide you with a clearer understanding of the costs involved and help you make an informed decision about your options. Always prioritize safety and the qualifications of your surgeon when considering cosmetic procedures.
