Is there insufficient congestion?
Hello, Doctor.
For the past two weeks, I have noticed some abnormalities with my penis.
It seems that both the penis and the glans are not as sensitive as before.
Additionally, in the mornings and during erections, it does not feel as firm as it used to (both the glans and the penis feel somewhat soft) and it tends to lose firmness easily.
I have checked some websites and I am wondering if this could be due to vascular leakage or nerve issues?
Note: In the last two months, particularly in the last two weeks, I have started masturbating, approximately 10 times.
During the last few sessions, I noticed that when I stimulated my penis during an erection, it felt quite pleasurable, so I gently shook it a few times.
However, there was one instance where I shook it a bit too hard, and afterward, when I tried to gently shake it during masturbation, I felt very little sensation (it felt numb), although I am still able to ejaculate.
I thought I would take a break, but after a week, it seems to have worsened day by day, with erections not being firm enough and losing firmness easily.
I have already scheduled an appointment to see a doctor on Wednesday, but I am unsure what the issue might be and if there is a solution.
What additional information should I provide to the doctor during my visit? Thank you for your response; I greatly appreciate it!

This male friend, regarding your situation and concerns, I believe the most likely cause is psychogenic erectile dysfunction.
I suggest that you try not to focus too much on this issue and instead relax your mind.
After some time, if the situation does not improve, please visit a urology clinic for further evaluation to determine the underlying cause and receive appropriate treatment.

More Info
Erectile sensitivity issues can be concerning and may stem from a variety of causes. Based on your description, it seems you are experiencing a decrease in sensitivity and firmness of the penis, particularly during erections. This can be distressing, especially if it affects your sexual health and confidence.
Possible Causes
1. Nerve Damage: The penis is rich in nerve endings, and any damage to the nerves can lead to decreased sensitivity. This may occur due to various factors, including diabetes, pelvic surgery, or trauma.
2. Vascular Issues: Erectile function is heavily reliant on proper blood flow. Conditions such as atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries) or other vascular diseases can impede blood flow to the penis, resulting in weaker erections.
3. Hormonal Changes: Testosterone plays a crucial role in sexual arousal and erectile function. Low testosterone levels can lead to decreased libido and sensitivity. Hormonal imbalances can be caused by various factors, including age, stress, and certain medical conditions.
4. Psychological Factors: Anxiety, depression, and stress can significantly impact sexual performance and sensitivity. If you are feeling anxious about your sexual health, this could exacerbate the issue.
5. Overstimulation or Desensitization: Frequent masturbation, especially if done aggressively, can lead to temporary desensitization. If you have been engaging in vigorous activities, it might take some time for sensitivity to return to normal.
6. Medication Side Effects: Certain medications, particularly those for high blood pressure, depression, or anxiety, can affect erectile function and sensitivity.
Recommendations
1. Consult a Healthcare Provider: Since you have already scheduled an appointment with a doctor, be sure to discuss all your symptoms openly. This includes the duration of your symptoms, any changes in your sexual health, and any medications you are taking.
2. Provide Comprehensive Information: When you see your doctor, it would be helpful to provide:
- A detailed history of your symptoms (when they started, how they have progressed).
- Any relevant medical history (such as diabetes, heart disease, or hormonal issues).
- Lifestyle factors (such as smoking, alcohol use, and exercise).
- Psychological factors (stress levels, anxiety, or depression).
- Any medications or supplements you are currently taking.
3. Consider Lifestyle Changes: Improving your overall health can have a positive impact on erectile function. This includes:
- Regular exercise to improve blood circulation.
- A balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins.
- Reducing alcohol consumption and quitting smoking.
- Managing stress through relaxation techniques, such as yoga or meditation.
4. Follow-Up: After your initial consultation, follow your doctor's recommendations and attend any follow-up appointments. They may suggest tests to evaluate hormone levels, blood flow, or nerve function.
5. Therapeutic Options: Depending on the diagnosis, your doctor may recommend various treatments, including medications (like PDE5 inhibitors), hormone therapy, or counseling for psychological factors.
Conclusion
Erectile sensitivity issues can be multifactorial, and it is essential to approach this matter holistically. By consulting with a healthcare provider and providing them with comprehensive information, you can work together to identify the underlying causes and develop an appropriate treatment plan. Remember, you are not alone in this, and many men experience similar issues at some point in their lives. Seeking help is a positive step towards regaining your sexual health and confidence.
