What should I do?
Hello, doctor: I always feel like I'm not interested in anything, even studying.
I've spent a lot of money without knowing which field suits me, and I graduated in a daze.
After entering the workforce, I felt even more defeated; I have no interest in anything, and it's really hard to find something I want to do.
I feel like the people around me look down on me, and I don't know if I'm overthinking it or what.
Sometimes, I inexplicably feel sad.
When I was 14, I had fibroids, and now I don't really know much about it, only that I don't have my own ovaries, which was discovered early.
When I see my gray hair, I really dislike myself.
I don't harm myself, but I have a bad temper.
I'm also afraid that the people around me will ignore me, which makes me start to overthink.
Am I overthinking? I also fear closing my eyes because my mind keeps replaying what happened today.
What should I do? Does this count as having a problem?

You are exhibiting a significant amount of negative emotions.
It may be worth evaluating whether you are also experiencing subjective depressive symptoms, such as loss of interest in many activities, lack of energy, insomnia, and poor appetite.
If this is the case, it might be beneficial to consult with a psychiatrist for further discussion.
Wishing you well.

It sounds like you are going through a very challenging time, and I want to acknowledge the feelings of confusion, sadness, and disinterest that you are experiencing. Your situation is complex, and it's important to understand that what you are feeling is valid. Many people go through periods of feeling lost or uninterested in activities they once enjoyed, and this can be particularly pronounced during transitions in life, such as graduating from school or entering the workforce.
From what you've described, it seems like you may be experiencing symptoms that could be associated with depression or anxiety. These conditions can manifest in various ways, including a lack of interest in activities, feelings of sadness, irritability, and negative thoughts about oneself. It's also common to feel overwhelmed by the expectations of others or to perceive that others are judging you, which can exacerbate feelings of inadequacy and self-doubt.
Your mention of having undergone surgery for a fibroid at a young age and the subsequent feelings of self-dislike when you notice changes in your appearance, such as gray hair, suggests that you may be grappling with body image issues as well. These feelings can be compounded by the stress of not having your own ovaries, which may lead to concerns about your health and future.
It's crucial to recognize that these feelings do not define you, and seeking help is a strong and positive step. Mental health professionals, such as therapists or psychiatrists, can provide support and guidance tailored to your specific needs. They can help you explore the underlying causes of your feelings, develop coping strategies, and work towards regaining a sense of interest and joy in life.
In addition to professional help, there are several strategies you can consider to help manage your feelings:
1. Journaling: Writing down your thoughts and feelings can be a therapeutic way to process what you are experiencing. It can also help you identify patterns in your emotions and thoughts.
2. Mindfulness and Relaxation Techniques: Practices such as meditation, deep breathing exercises, or yoga can help calm your mind and reduce anxiety. These techniques can also help you stay present and lessen the tendency to ruminate on past events.
3. Physical Activity: Engaging in regular physical activity, even if it's just a short walk, can significantly improve your mood and overall well-being. Exercise releases endorphins, which are natural mood lifters.
4. Social Support: Reach out to friends or family members who you trust. Sharing your feelings with someone who cares can provide relief and help you feel less isolated.
5. Setting Small Goals: Start with small, achievable goals each day. This could be as simple as reading a chapter of a book or taking a short walk. Accomplishing these small tasks can help build your confidence and motivation.
6. Limit Negative Influences: If certain environments or people contribute to your feelings of inadequacy, it may be helpful to distance yourself from those influences as much as possible.
7. Professional Help: As mentioned earlier, consider seeking therapy or counseling. A mental health professional can provide a safe space to explore your feelings and develop coping strategies.
Remember, you are not alone in this journey, and it’s okay to ask for help. Mental health struggles are common, and there is no shame in seeking support. It’s a sign of strength to recognize when you need assistance and to take steps towards healing. You deserve to feel better and to find joy in your life again.
