Please introduce a specialist doctor to help solve the problem. Thank you?
Doctor: Hello.
I am Mr.
Sun from last time.
I have visited many ENT clinics before and have undergone electrocautery.
I had an examination at a large hospital where the doctor diagnosed me with a hemangioma.
Because of this, I underwent surgery and also had electrocautery again, but none of these treatments were effective.
When I went to another large hospital, the doctor said it was a problem related to my constitution, which runs in my family; my mother and older sister also have it, and they haven't been able to find a cure either.
Now my son and daughter are also affected, and it is really troubling me.
May I ask if the cause can be identified through blood tests? We live in Tainan County.
Could you recommend a doctor who is more specialized in this area?
Mr. Sun, 40~49 year old female. Ask Date: 2005/01/07
Dr. Hu Kexin reply Otolaryngology
Hello Mr.
Sun, there are some hereditary diseases that can cause recurrent nosebleeds.
If you have such a condition, I recommend that you consult with your family at a nearby medical center.
It is also necessary to check if there are abnormal vascular distributions in other body tissues besides the nose.
Best wishes, Dr.
Hu.

More Info
Dear Mr. Sun,
Thank you for reaching out regarding your persistent health issues related to ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) concerns. It sounds like you have been through a challenging journey with your condition, and I understand how frustrating it can be to seek effective treatment, especially when multiple opinions have led to different conclusions.
From your description, it appears that you have been diagnosed with a vascular malformation, commonly referred to as a hemangioma, which can sometimes be hereditary. These conditions can be complex, and their management often requires a multidisciplinary approach. Given your family history and the recurrence of symptoms in your children, it is crucial to find a specialist who can provide a comprehensive evaluation and treatment plan tailored to your specific needs.
In terms of blood tests, while they can provide valuable information about your overall health and help rule out certain conditions, they may not directly identify the underlying cause of vascular malformations. However, tests such as complete blood counts, coagulation profiles, and imaging studies (like ultrasound or MRI) can be instrumental in assessing the extent of the condition and guiding treatment options.
For your situation in Tainan, I recommend seeking out an ENT specialist who has experience with vascular lesions and their management. A few hospitals and clinics in Tainan are known for their ENT departments, and I would suggest looking into the following:
1. Tainan Municipal Hospital - This hospital has a reputable ENT department and may have specialists who focus on vascular anomalies.
2. Chimei Medical Center - Known for its advanced medical care, Chimei has a team of experienced ENT doctors who can provide a second opinion and explore treatment options.
3. National Cheng Kung University Hospital - As an academic hospital, they often have specialists who are up-to-date with the latest research and treatment modalities.
When you visit a specialist, it would be beneficial to bring along all previous medical records, including imaging studies and notes from your past consultations. This information will help the new doctor understand your medical history and the treatments you have already undergone.
Additionally, consider discussing the possibility of genetic counseling, especially given the familial aspect of your condition. A geneticist can provide insights into whether there is a hereditary component that may be influencing the health of your children.
In summary, while blood tests may not directly reveal the cause of your symptoms, they can be part of a broader diagnostic approach. Finding a specialized ENT doctor in Tainan who understands vascular malformations will be key to managing your condition effectively. I hope this information helps you navigate your next steps, and I wish you the best in finding the right care for your health concerns.
Best regards,
