Regarding the glans and the foreskin?

Hello, I am 27 years old...
I have not had any sexual experience other than masturbation, and I have not undergone circumcision.
I noticed that in adult films, the male actors have a distinct shape of the glans, which looks different from mine.
When I am not erect, my glans shape is not apparent; it appears to be just a straight shaft.
Only when I am erect can I vaguely see the shape of the glans, but the distinction between the glans and the shaft is not very clear.
Additionally, there is a small amount of skin at the urethral opening, and this skin maintains its original shape even when erect.
After urinating, if I don't shake a few times, some urine may remain on it.
I am wondering if this is what is referred to as phimosis or excessive foreskin? Although I do not experience any pain and can achieve orgasm through masturbation, should I see a urologist to investigate further? If circumcision is necessary, is it still appropriate for me to undergo the procedure at my age? Thank you.

It sounds like you have some concerns regarding your foreskin and glans, particularly in relation to your anatomy and whether you should consult a urologist. Let's break down your situation and provide some guidance.

Firstly, it's important to understand that the appearance of the glans (the head of the penis) and the foreskin can vary significantly among individuals. In your case, you mentioned that the shape of your glans is not very pronounced until you achieve an erection, which is not uncommon. The foreskin, which is the fold of skin covering the glans, can also vary in length and elasticity.
From your description, it seems that you might have a condition known as phimosis, which is when the foreskin cannot be easily retracted over the glans. This can lead to issues such as difficulty cleaning the area, potential for infections, and in some cases, discomfort during erections or sexual activity. However, you also mentioned that you do not experience any pain or significant issues during masturbation, which is a positive sign.

The presence of a small amount of skin at the urethral opening that retains its shape after urination could be a normal anatomical variant, but it could also be related to the foreskin's length. If you find that urine tends to collect under the foreskin, it might be worth discussing this with a healthcare professional, as it can lead to hygiene issues or infections.

As for whether you should see a urologist, it is advisable if you have any concerns about your anatomy or if you are experiencing any discomfort, hygiene issues, or if you are considering circumcision. A urologist can provide a thorough examination and discuss your options with you. They can also help clarify whether what you are experiencing is normal or if it requires treatment.

Regarding your question about circumcision at your age, it is indeed possible to undergo this procedure as an adult. Many men choose to have circumcision later in life for various reasons, including medical, hygienic, or personal preference. The procedure can be performed safely in adults, and recovery typically involves some discomfort but is manageable with proper care.

In summary, while you may not be experiencing significant problems currently, consulting a urologist can provide you with peace of mind and clarity regarding your anatomy. They can assess whether any intervention is necessary and discuss the potential benefits and risks of circumcision if that is a route you wish to explore. Remember, it’s always better to seek professional advice when it comes to your health and well-being.
