Could you please clarify if this is a question about whether someone is pregnant?
I would like to ask a question.
My last menstrual period started on April 24.
After that, I had intimate contact with my boyfriend on May 7 without using protection.
However, we purchased the emergency contraceptive pill "Postinor" and took it within 24 hours.
Around May 17-18, I noticed some breast swelling and tenderness, and I had increased discharge, which made me think my period was approaching.
So, on May 21, when I had intimate contact with my boyfriend again, we did not use protection; one time was not completed (no ejaculation), and the second time was external ejaculation.
I thought it would be safe since my period was coming soon.
However, as of today, May 24, my period still hasn't arrived.
Although the timing isn't too far off, my breast pain is quite severe, especially around the nipples, which are very tender to touch.
Additionally, I have been experiencing increased discharge, and there have been a few mornings where I woke up feeling very hot and sweating profusely (though I didn't measure my actual body temperature).
I'm wondering if these are signs of pregnancy or if the delay in my period is due to the medication I took.
Could it also be a result of stress and anxiety over the past few days? I feel like my symptoms resemble early signs of pregnancy, and with my period still not arriving, I'm really worried.
If I go to the pharmacy to buy a pregnancy test, will it be able to detect pregnancy? Is there a chance I could be pregnant? What is the likelihood? Please help me with your answers.
Thank you.

Generally, pregnancy tests can be taken two weeks after conception.
Based on your description, it seems more like a case of menstrual irregularity or inflammation.
Sincerely, Lu Li-Cheng.

More Info
Based on the information you've provided, it seems that you are experiencing a range of symptoms that could be indicative of pregnancy, but there are also other factors to consider. Let's break down your situation and clarify the possibilities.
1. Timing of Intercourse and Emergency Contraception: You mentioned having unprotected intercourse on May 7 and then taking emergency contraception (Plan B) within 24 hours. Emergency contraceptive pills are designed to prevent ovulation and can be effective if taken promptly after unprotected intercourse. However, they can also cause temporary changes in your menstrual cycle, including delays or changes in flow.
2. Symptoms: You are experiencing breast tenderness, increased vaginal discharge, and a feeling of warmth and sweating. These symptoms can be associated with both premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and early pregnancy. Breast tenderness is common in both scenarios due to hormonal fluctuations. Increased discharge can also occur due to hormonal changes or infections.
3. Menstrual Cycle: You noted that your last period started on April 24, and you are now expecting your next period. If your cycle is typically regular, a delay could be concerning. However, hormonal changes from the emergency contraception could also be a reason for the delay.
4. Pregnancy Testing: Home pregnancy tests are generally reliable and can detect pregnancy about a week after a missed period. Since your period is late, it would be advisable to take a pregnancy test now. If you test too early, you may receive a false negative result, especially if your hormone levels are not yet high enough to be detected.
5. Stress and Anxiety: You mentioned feeling anxious about the possibility of being pregnant. Stress can also affect your menstrual cycle and may contribute to symptoms like breast tenderness and changes in discharge. It's important to manage stress, as it can have a significant impact on your overall health and menstrual regularity.
6. Next Steps: Given your symptoms and the timing of your last period, it would be prudent to take a home pregnancy test. If the test is negative and your period does not arrive within a week, consider consulting a healthcare provider for further evaluation. They can perform a blood test for pregnancy, which is more sensitive than home tests, and assess any other underlying issues that may be affecting your menstrual cycle.
In summary, while your symptoms could suggest pregnancy, they could also be attributed to hormonal changes from the emergency contraception or stress. Taking a home pregnancy test will provide clarity, and if you remain concerned or if your symptoms worsen, seeking medical advice is always a good option. Remember to take care of your mental health during this time, as anxiety can exacerbate physical symptoms.
