Frequent Urination: Causes, Concerns, and Solutions - Urology

This issue is troubling me?

Since February of this year, I have noticed that my frequent urination has become increasingly severe.
After drinking 600 cc of water, I need to go to the bathroom about 4 to 5 times.
I have been intermittently visiting a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner, but recently I discovered that my urine feels burning and has bubbles, especially the first time in the morning.
I have been seeing a traditional Chinese medicine doctor, but I don't understand why this is happening.
Would seeing a Western medicine doctor be more effective? I am very concerned about whether this can be treated.
Could this be related to my late nights, excessive work stress, and lack of exercise? I hope the doctor can give me some advice.
Thank you!

Frequent urination can be caused by insufficient fluid intake, holding urine, urinary tract infections, or emotional stress, so the possibilities you mentioned are all valid.
It is recommended that you come to the outpatient clinic for a definitive diagnosis and treatment while the situation is still manageable.

Frequent urination, or polyuria, can be a distressing symptom that significantly impacts daily life. Your experience of needing to urinate 4-5 times after drinking 600cc of water, along with the sensations of burning and the presence of bubbles in your urine, suggests that there may be underlying medical issues that need to be addressed.
Firstly, it’s essential to understand that frequent urination can have various causes, including urinary tract infections (UTIs), bladder conditions, prostate issues in men, diabetes, and even psychological factors such as anxiety. Given your symptoms, it would be prudent to consider a few potential causes:
1. Urinary Tract Infection (UTI): The burning sensation during urination and the presence of bubbles could indicate a UTI. UTIs are common and can cause frequent urination, urgency, and discomfort. If you suspect a UTI, a urinalysis and culture can confirm the diagnosis, and antibiotics can effectively treat the infection.

2. Bladder Conditions: Conditions such as interstitial cystitis or overactive bladder can lead to similar symptoms. These conditions may require specific treatments, including medications that help relax the bladder or physical therapy.

3. Diabetes: Increased urination can also be a sign of diabetes, particularly if accompanied by excessive thirst and fatigue. A simple blood test can determine your blood sugar levels and help rule out this condition.

4. Psychological Factors: Anxiety and stress can lead to increased urination frequency. Your mention of late nights and work stress could contribute to anxiety, which may exacerbate your symptoms. Techniques to manage stress, such as mindfulness, relaxation exercises, or therapy, can be beneficial.

5. Lifestyle Factors: Lack of exercise, poor sleep habits, and high-stress levels can affect your overall health, including urinary function. Regular physical activity, a balanced diet, and adequate hydration can improve your well-being and potentially alleviate some urinary symptoms.

Regarding your question about whether to continue seeing a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner or to consult a Western medical doctor, it may be beneficial to explore both avenues. While traditional Chinese medicine can offer holistic approaches, Western medicine may provide quicker diagnostic tools and treatments, especially for acute conditions like UTIs or diabetes.
In conclusion, I recommend scheduling an appointment with a healthcare provider who can perform a thorough evaluation, including a physical examination and necessary laboratory tests. This will help identify the underlying cause of your frequent urination and allow for appropriate treatment. Additionally, consider addressing lifestyle factors that may contribute to your symptoms, such as stress management and regular exercise. Remember, early intervention is key to effectively managing health issues, so seeking medical advice sooner rather than later is advisable.
