Abnormal physical phenomena
My life is simple, and I usually go to bed late (around one or two in the morning).
Since childhood, I have been prone to bruising (I get bruises easily from minor bumps) and my mouth sores take longer to heal.
Recently, I have noticed some unusual symptoms.
For the past two weeks, I have been experiencing frequent nosebleeds from my right nostril (about every two days, without picking my nose).
A few days ago, I got my period, and since I usually use tampons, I disposed of it in the bathroom trash can.
After one or two hours, I found a bunch of ants gathered on the tampon, feeding on it.
Does this indicate that my blood sugar levels are high? Could this be a sign of some disease? What kind of tests should I undergo? Thank you for your response~~ ^^

In addition to consulting an otolaryngologist, it is also important to check blood glucose, platelet count, red blood cell count, hemoglobin, and white blood cell count.

More Info
It sounds like you are experiencing a range of unusual symptoms that are concerning you, and it's important to address these appropriately. Based on your description, there are several aspects to consider regarding your health, particularly the frequent nosebleeds, easy bruising, and the unusual observation with the cotton tampon.
Understanding Your Symptoms
1. Frequent Nosebleeds: Nosebleeds can occur for various reasons, including dry air, allergies, nasal irritation, or underlying health issues. Given that you mentioned this has been happening frequently (every couple of days), it might be worth investigating further. Chronic nosebleeds can sometimes indicate issues with blood clotting or vascular problems.
2. Easy Bruising: Bruising easily can be a sign of several conditions, including platelet disorders, clotting factor deficiencies, or even certain vitamin deficiencies (like Vitamin C or K). If you have a history of easy bruising since childhood, it may be a benign condition, but it’s still worth discussing with a healthcare provider.
3. Ants on Tampons: The presence of ants on your used tampon could suggest that there is a high sugar content in your blood, which might attract insects. This could be a sign of diabetes or another metabolic disorder. However, it’s essential to note that this observation alone is not a definitive indicator of high blood sugar.
When to Seek Medical Advice
Given your symptoms, it is advisable to seek medical attention for a comprehensive evaluation. Here are some steps you can take:
1. Primary Care Physician: Start by visiting a primary care physician who can perform a thorough examination and take a detailed medical history. They may ask about your family history, lifestyle, and any other symptoms you may have overlooked.
2. Blood Tests: Your doctor may recommend blood tests to check your blood sugar levels, complete blood count (CBC), and possibly tests for clotting factors. These tests can help identify any underlying conditions that may be causing your symptoms.
3. Referral to Specialists: Depending on the initial findings, your doctor might refer you to a hematologist (for blood-related issues) or an endocrinologist (for potential diabetes or metabolic disorders).
4. Lifestyle Modifications: While waiting for your appointment, consider making some lifestyle changes. Staying hydrated, maintaining a balanced diet, and avoiding irritants (like smoking or excessive alcohol) can help improve your overall health.
5. Monitor Symptoms: Keep a diary of your symptoms, noting when they occur, their severity, and any potential triggers. This information can be valuable for your healthcare provider.
Conclusion
Your symptoms warrant further investigation, especially since they have changed recently. While some of these issues may be benign, they could also indicate a more serious underlying condition. It’s crucial to consult with a healthcare professional who can guide you through the necessary tests and provide appropriate treatment options. Remember, early intervention can often lead to better outcomes, so don’t hesitate to seek help.
