Poor skin condition all over the body..?
Hello Dr.
Jiang:
1.
A few days ago, small red spots about 0.1 cm in size started appearing on my foot, which are itchy and increasing in number.
What could this be?
2.
Small red spots about 0.1 cm in size have also appeared on my hand recently.
They become very itchy when exposed to hot water and are generally itchy.
Recently, they have started to break the skin, especially at the joints of my fingers.
3.
My entire body is very itchy, especially around the navel, thighs, armpits, groin, abdomen, and anus, where some skin has small red spots.
What could this be?
4.
About two weeks ago, my genital area became itchy and the skin broke.
After examination, I thought it was just dryness and didn't pay much attention.
After a few days, it developed into two swollen areas resembling mosquito bites (about the size that can be held between my thumb and index finger).
A few days later, I noticed similar swollen red areas on my scrotum, totaling three spots.
What could this be? (I am very concerned it might be something like genital warts.)
5.
A few days ago, I experienced itching in front of my left nipple, along with a feeling of swelling.
After a few days, a small area also resembled a mosquito bite and has slightly broken the skin.
6.
Could this be a fungal infection? Or is it some unusual disease? I am planning to see a dermatologist today because I feel I cannot ignore this any longer.
7.
I apologize, and thank you for providing me with some diagnostic insights to help me understand my condition better.

Your condition is most likely scabies, which is a parasitic skin infection.
Treatment is required, along with disinfection of clothing.
Wishing you well.

More Info
It sounds like you're experiencing a range of skin issues that are causing discomfort and concern. Based on your description, there are several potential causes for the symptoms you've outlined, including itchy red spots, rashes, and localized skin irritation. Here’s a breakdown of your concerns and some possible explanations:
1. Itchy Red Spots on the Legs: The small red spots that are itchy could be a form of dermatitis, such as contact dermatitis, which occurs when the skin reacts to an irritant or allergen. Another possibility is folliculitis, which is an inflammation of the hair follicles that can cause red, itchy bumps. If these spots are increasing in number, it may indicate an ongoing irritation or allergic reaction.
2. Red Spots on the Hands: The symptoms you describe on your hands, especially the increased itchiness when exposed to hot water, could suggest a condition like eczema or contact dermatitis. The breaking of the skin at the finger joints is concerning and could lead to secondary infections if not treated properly. It's essential to keep the area moisturized and avoid irritants.
3. Generalized Itching and Red Spots: The widespread itching, particularly in sensitive areas like the belly button, thighs, armpits, and groin, could be indicative of a systemic issue such as an allergic reaction, eczema, or even a fungal infection. Conditions like scabies or hives could also present with similar symptoms, especially if there is a history of exposure to allergens or irritants.
4. Genital Itching and Rash: The symptoms in the genital area, especially if they resemble mosquito bites and are accompanied by swelling, could be due to a variety of causes, including an allergic reaction, a sexually transmitted infection (STI), or a fungal infection like candidiasis. It’s crucial to have these symptoms evaluated by a healthcare professional, as they can provide a more accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.
5. Itching and Swelling Near the Nipple: The localized itching and swelling near the nipple could be due to a variety of factors, including dermatitis, an allergic reaction, or even an infection. If the area is breaking down, it may require topical treatment to prevent further irritation or infection.
6. Potential Fungal Infection: Given the range of symptoms and the locations described, a fungal infection could be a possibility, especially if there are areas of moist skin. Conditions like tinea (ringworm) can cause itchy, red patches and are often exacerbated by heat and humidity.
7. Next Steps: It’s good to hear that you plan to see a dermatologist. A thorough examination is essential to determine the exact cause of your symptoms. The dermatologist may perform a skin scraping, patch testing, or other diagnostic tests to identify any underlying conditions.
In the meantime, here are some general tips to manage your symptoms:
- Avoid Irritants: Try to identify and avoid any products or substances that may be irritating your skin, including soaps, detergents, and skincare products.
- Moisturize: Use a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer to help soothe dry and irritated skin.
- Cool Compresses: Applying a cool compress to itchy areas can provide temporary relief.
- Avoid Scratching: Scratching can worsen irritation and lead to infections, so try to keep your nails trimmed and consider wearing gloves if necessary.
- Over-the-Counter Treatments: Antihistamines may help reduce itching, and hydrocortisone cream can help with inflammation, but consult with your doctor before starting any new treatment.
In conclusion, while your symptoms can be distressing, many skin conditions are manageable with the right treatment. A dermatologist will provide you with the best course of action tailored to your specific needs. Remember to keep track of any changes in your symptoms and communicate these to your healthcare provider.
