I'm really worried about my testicles..?
I am 22 years old, but my testicles do not hang as low as most people's.
However, during my military physical examination, they did not mention anything about cryptorchidism.
They still seem quite small; sometimes they are a bit larger, but most of the time they look like a child's testicles.
Sometimes they even retract and seem to disappear! What should I do? I'm really worried!

You've passed the military service medical examination, so there's no need to worry! If you're still concerned, consider consulting a urologist.

When it comes to concerns about testicular size, it's important to understand that there is a wide range of normal when it comes to the size and appearance of the testicles. Testicular size can vary significantly among individuals, and factors such as genetics, hormonal levels, and overall health can play a role in this variation.
At 22 years old, you are still within the age range where your body may still be developing. The testicles typically reach their full size during puberty, which can occur anywhere from ages 9 to 14, but some individuals may experience variations in development that can extend into their early twenties. If you have undergone a medical examination and were not diagnosed with conditions such as cryptorchidism (undescended testicles), it is likely that your testicular size is within a normal range for you, even if it appears smaller compared to others.
It's also worth noting that testicular size can fluctuate due to various factors, including temperature, arousal, and even anxiety. For example, during cold temperatures or moments of stress, the testicles may retract closer to the body, making them appear smaller. This is a normal physiological response and does not necessarily indicate a problem.
If you are experiencing significant anxiety about your testicular size or if you notice any other concerning symptoms—such as pain, swelling, or changes in texture—it's advisable to consult with a healthcare professional. They can perform a thorough examination and provide reassurance or further evaluation if necessary.
In terms of health, the size of the testicles does not directly correlate with fertility or testosterone production. Many men with smaller testicles are still able to produce healthy sperm and maintain normal testosterone levels. However, if you have concerns about fertility or hormonal issues, discussing these with a healthcare provider can provide clarity and peace of mind.
In summary, while it is natural to have concerns about your body, especially during your early twenties, it is essential to remember that there is a wide range of normal when it comes to testicular size. If your health assessments have not indicated any issues, it is likely that you are within a normal range. However, if your concerns persist or if you experience any unusual symptoms, seeking advice from a healthcare professional is the best course of action. They can provide personalized guidance and support to address your worries.
