What's wrong with the skin!!

I have developed patches on the sides of my lower back and buttocks that look like age spots, and they appear quite unsightly.
Could this be due to dry skin? How can I improve this condition?

The primary focus should be on maintaining the skin's natural oils, which means using less body wash or soap, avoiding very hot water, and applying moisturizing lotion to your skin.
