There is a lump at the junction of the outer ear and the cheek?
Hello: I have a lump near the junction of my right outer ear and cheek (approximately in the middle), and I feel a swelling sensation under both ears.
I can also feel some lymph nodes in my neck.
Recently, I've been experiencing more frequent tinnitus (especially when swallowing).
I'm unsure if this is normal or if it is related to my frequent speaking (due to my profession).
It feels quite strange...
Could you please provide me with an explanation? Thank you!

Hello: In response to your question, this is caused by a local infection leading to impaired function of the Eustachian tube.
I recommend that you do not wait any longer and seek treatment as soon as possible to avoid further complications.

More Info
Hello! Thank you for reaching out with your concerns regarding the symptoms you're experiencing around your ear and cheek area. Based on your description, it seems that you are dealing with a few interconnected issues that could be related to several underlying causes.
Firstly, the lump you feel near the connection of your right outer ear and cheek could potentially be a swollen lymph node. Lymph nodes can become enlarged due to various reasons, including infections, inflammation, or even stress on the body. Given that you mentioned feeling a "swollen" sensation in both ears and around your neck, this could indicate a response to an infection or inflammation in the area, possibly related to your throat or ears.
The ear ringing (tinnitus) you are experiencing, especially when swallowing, may be linked to Eustachian tube dysfunction. The Eustachian tube connects the middle ear to the back of the nose and throat, helping to equalize pressure in the ear. When you swallow, the tube opens to allow air to flow into the middle ear. If there is any blockage or dysfunction, it can lead to sensations of fullness, pressure, or ringing in the ears. This dysfunction can be exacerbated by frequent talking or vocal strain, which may be relevant given your profession.
Another possibility is that you might be experiencing symptoms related to temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction. The TMJ is located very close to the ear, and issues with this joint can lead to pain, swelling, and even ear-related symptoms like tinnitus or a feeling of fullness in the ear. If you find that your symptoms worsen with jaw movement or clenching, this could be a contributing factor.
Additionally, if you have a history of allergies or sinus issues, these could also play a role in your symptoms. Allergies can lead to sinus congestion, which can affect the Eustachian tube and lead to ear discomfort and tinnitus.
Given these possibilities, it would be wise to consult with an Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) specialist. They can perform a thorough examination, including checking for signs of infection, assessing your Eustachian tube function, and evaluating your lymph nodes. If necessary, they may also refer you to a dentist or oral surgeon to evaluate for TMJ issues.
In the meantime, consider some self-care measures. Staying hydrated, practicing good vocal hygiene, and avoiding excessive talking or straining your voice may help alleviate some of your symptoms. If you notice any additional symptoms, such as fever, significant pain, or changes in hearing, seek medical attention promptly.
In summary, while your symptoms may be concerning, they could be related to a variety of conditions, including lymphadenopathy, Eustachian tube dysfunction, or TMJ issues. A thorough evaluation by a healthcare professional will be essential in determining the exact cause and appropriate treatment. I hope this information helps you understand your symptoms better, and I wish you the best in finding relief soon!
