Glans issues

Dear Doctor, my glans is not very large, and there are vertical folds both before and after erection.
I don't recall any injuries.
However, the glans during erection is only slightly larger than when flaccid.
Is this a developmental issue or something else? Is it treatable? Thank you.

It is still best for you to visit the outpatient clinic for a direct examination by a doctor for accurate results.

Understanding the concerns regarding penile size and the presence of wrinkles on the glans (the head of the penis) is important for both physical and psychological well-being. Based on your description, it seems you are experiencing some concerns about the size of your glans and the appearance of vertical wrinkles both before and after erection.
Firstly, it is essential to understand that variations in penile size and shape are normal. The average size of an erect penis varies widely among individuals, and many factors, including genetics and hormonal influences during development, play a significant role in determining size. The presence of vertical wrinkles on the glans is also common and can be attributed to the natural elasticity of the skin. These wrinkles may become more pronounced with age or due to changes in skin elasticity, but they are generally not indicative of any underlying health issue.

Regarding your concern about whether this is a sign of developmental issues, it is important to note that developmental abnormalities typically present with more pronounced symptoms, such as significant differences in size compared to peers, pain, or functional issues during sexual activity. If you have not experienced any pain or functional difficulties, it is less likely that you are dealing with a developmental disorder.

If you feel that the size of your glans is significantly impacting your self-esteem or sexual function, it may be beneficial to consult with a urologist. They can provide a thorough evaluation and discuss potential treatment options if necessary. Treatment options may include counseling for psychological support or, in some cases, surgical options for individuals with specific concerns about size or shape. However, it is crucial to have realistic expectations and understand that many surgical procedures come with risks and may not always yield the desired results.

In terms of treatment, if you are concerned about the appearance of your glans or the presence of wrinkles, there are no medically necessary treatments for these conditions unless they are associated with pain or functional impairment. However, if you are looking for cosmetic improvements, some procedures may be available, but they should be discussed in detail with a qualified urologist or plastic surgeon specializing in this area.

In summary, the presence of vertical wrinkles and the size of the glans are generally normal variations and not necessarily indicative of a medical issue. If you have concerns about your development or self-image, seeking professional advice can provide reassurance and options tailored to your needs. Remember, open communication with a healthcare provider can help address your concerns and guide you toward the best course of action for your situation.
