After ejaculation, there is a soreness in the right testicle and groin area?
Hello Doctor, I experienced ejaculation twice on the night of March 14 and the morning of March 15, and since then, I've been feeling discomfort and soreness in my right testicle and groin area (sometimes it hurts).
My right testicle sometimes feels like it's dropping down like a hernia, and at other times it feels normal.
However, as of March 21, the soreness persists.
I previously consulted a doctor who mentioned something about my spermatic cord being too long (I was too nervous at the time to remember clearly).
I had a hernia surgery when I was younger, but the scar is on the left side!? I'm really worried that the discomfort (and occasional pain) might indicate a recurrence of the hernia.
Could you please clarify this for me?

It is likely due to prolonged erections causing muscle soreness.
This typically occurs from extended periods of erection or multiple erections in a short time, leading to muscle discomfort.
Local heat application may help alleviate the symptoms.
Additionally, localized inflammation could also contribute to the issue.
If there is no improvement after 2-3 days of heat therapy, it is advisable to seek medical attention promptly.

Experiencing right testicular pain after ejaculation can be concerning, and it's important to understand the potential causes and when to seek medical attention. Based on your description, it seems that you are experiencing discomfort in the right testicle and groin area, which has persisted for several days. Here are some possible causes and considerations regarding your symptoms.
1. Epididymitis: This is an inflammation of the epididymis, the tube that carries sperm from the testicle. It can cause pain and discomfort in the testicle and groin area, especially after ejaculation. Epididymitis can be caused by infections, including sexually transmitted infections (STIs), or non-infectious factors such as trauma or prolonged sitting.
2. Testicular Torsion: Although less common, testicular torsion is a medical emergency that occurs when the spermatic cord becomes twisted, cutting off blood supply to the testicle. Symptoms include sudden, severe pain in the testicle, swelling, and nausea. If you experience intense pain that comes on suddenly, you should seek immediate medical attention.
3. Varicocele: This condition involves enlarged veins within the scrotum, similar to varicose veins. It can cause a dull ache or discomfort in the testicle, especially after physical activity or ejaculation. Varicoceles are often more prominent on the left side but can occur on the right side as well.
4. Hernia: Given your history of hernia surgery, it is possible that you could be experiencing a recurrence. A hernia occurs when an internal part of the body pushes through a weakness in the muscle or surrounding tissue wall. Symptoms can include a bulge in the groin or scrotum, discomfort, or pain, especially when lifting or straining.
5. Testicular Trauma or Injury: Any recent trauma or injury to the groin area can lead to pain and discomfort in the testicles. This could be from physical activity, sports, or even a previous surgery.
6. Nerve Irritation: Sometimes, nerve irritation in the lower back or pelvis can manifest as testicular pain. This can be due to muscle strain, herniated discs, or other spinal issues.
Given that your symptoms have persisted for over a week and include discomfort that resembles a hernia, it is advisable to consult a healthcare professional for a thorough evaluation. A physical examination, along with imaging studies such as an ultrasound, may be necessary to determine the underlying cause of your symptoms.
In the meantime, here are some general recommendations to help manage your discomfort:
- Rest: Avoid activities that may exacerbate your symptoms, such as heavy lifting or strenuous exercise.
- Support: Wearing supportive underwear can help alleviate discomfort.
- Pain Relief: Over-the-counter pain relievers such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen may help reduce pain and inflammation.
- Ice Application: Applying ice packs to the affected area for 15-20 minutes can help reduce swelling and discomfort.
In conclusion, while there are several potential causes for your right testicular pain after ejaculation, it is crucial to seek medical advice to rule out serious conditions and receive appropriate treatment. Your health and well-being are paramount, and addressing these symptoms early can lead to better outcomes.
