Blood during ejaculation?
I would like to share my experience: Last week, after masturbating, I noticed some slight blood on the tissue when I wiped, but since the amount was minimal, I didn't pay much attention.
Today, after ejaculating, I found that the entire floor was covered in blood; a significant amount had come out, which really shocked me.
After squeezing out the remaining semen, I noticed that it was still a milky white color and did not contain any blood.
However, my hands and the floor were covered in blood.
I later tried to locate the source of the bleeding and it seemed to be at the junction of the glans and the shaft of the penis, but I wasn't entirely sure because the bleeding wasn't continuous.
After ejaculation, it seemed to stop.
There was no stinging sensation when urinating, and the urine appeared normal, yellow, and without blood.
I looked online and wondered if this could be classified as hematospermia.
I also read about patients with ruptured ligaments who experience continuous bleeding, or if there might be an issue with the corpus spongiosum.
Could this possibly indicate a tumor issue? I hope to clarify my concerns with a physician before seeking medical attention.
Thank you.

More Info
Blood during ejaculation, known as hematospermia, can be alarming and may have various underlying causes. In your case, the presence of blood on the tissue after masturbation and the subsequent significant bleeding during ejaculation warrant careful consideration and evaluation.
Possible Causes of Hematospermia
1. Infection or Inflammation: One of the most common causes of blood in the semen is an infection or inflammation of the prostate (prostatitis), seminal vesicles, or urethra. These conditions can lead to bleeding during ejaculation.
2. Trauma: Physical trauma to the genital area, which can occur during vigorous sexual activity or masturbation, may result in bleeding. If you have experienced any injury, this could be a contributing factor.
3. Vascular Issues: Conditions affecting blood vessels, such as varicoceles or other vascular malformations, can lead to bleeding.
4. Benign Growths or Tumors: While less common, benign tumors in the reproductive tract can cause hematospermia. Malignant tumors are also a possibility, though they are less frequent in younger individuals.
5. Urethral Stricture or Lesions: Narrowing of the urethra or lesions can lead to bleeding, especially during ejaculation.
6. Systemic Conditions: Certain systemic conditions, such as blood clotting disorders, can also manifest as bleeding in various parts of the body, including the reproductive system.
When to Seek Medical Help
Given the significant amount of blood you observed, it is crucial to seek medical attention promptly. You should consider the following:
- Persistent Symptoms: If the bleeding continues or recurs, it is essential to consult a healthcare provider.
- Associated Symptoms: If you experience pain, swelling, fever, or any other unusual symptoms, these could indicate a more serious condition that requires immediate attention.
- Duration of Symptoms: If the bleeding does not resolve within a few days, or if you have any concerns about your health, you should see a doctor.
Diagnostic Evaluation
When you visit a healthcare provider, they may perform several evaluations, including:
- Physical Examination: A thorough examination of the genital area to check for any visible signs of trauma or infection.
- Urinalysis: To check for blood in the urine and signs of infection.
- Semen Analysis: To evaluate the presence of blood and other abnormalities in the semen.
- Imaging Studies: In some cases, ultrasound or other imaging studies may be necessary to assess the reproductive organs.
Conclusion
While hematospermia can be benign and resolve on its own, the significant amount of blood you observed during ejaculation is concerning and should not be ignored. It is essential to consult a healthcare professional to determine the underlying cause and receive appropriate treatment. Early intervention can help prevent potential complications and provide peace of mind regarding your health.
