The relationship between angle and hardness?
Every time I watch TV or read magazines, I use the angle of a banana as a standard to assess the hardness of the male genitalia.
However, when my penis is erect, it hangs down like a banana, but it does feel firm to the touch.
Does this count as erectile dysfunction?

Hello, the definition of sexual dysfunction is generally based on clinical symptoms, specifically the inability to penetrate the vagina.
If there are any unclear points, feel free to ask again, and we can discuss and research further.

The relationship between the angle of an erection and its hardness is a topic that often generates curiosity and concern among men. It's important to understand that the angle of an erection can vary significantly from person to person and is influenced by several factors, including anatomical structure, psychological state, and overall health.
Firstly, the angle of an erection is not a definitive measure of erectile function. An erection can be firm and hard, yet still point downwards, as you described. This is not necessarily indicative of erectile dysfunction (ED). Erectile dysfunction is typically characterized by the inability to achieve or maintain an erection sufficient for satisfactory sexual performance. If your erections are firm and you can engage in sexual activity, then you may not have a dysfunction.
The angle of an erection can be influenced by the following factors:
1. Anatomy: The anatomical structure of the penis varies among individuals. Some men may have a natural curvature or angle due to the way the erectile tissues are arranged. This is often normal and not a cause for concern.
2. Peyronie's Disease: In some cases, a significant curvature or angle during an erection can be a sign of Peyronie's disease, which is caused by the development of fibrous scar tissue inside the penis. This condition can lead to painful erections and may require medical evaluation if it affects sexual function.
3. Psychological Factors: Anxiety, stress, and psychological well-being can also impact erectile function. If you are worried about how your erection appears, this anxiety can sometimes affect your performance.
4. Health Conditions: Conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and hormonal imbalances can affect erectile function. Maintaining overall health through diet, exercise, and regular medical check-ups is essential for sexual health.
5. Age: As men age, changes in hormone levels and blood flow can affect the angle and firmness of erections. However, many older men still maintain healthy erectile function.
In your case, if your erections are firm and you do not experience difficulties in sexual performance, it is likely that you do not have erectile dysfunction. However, if you have concerns about the angle of your erection or if you experience pain, discomfort, or changes in your erectile function, it would be wise to consult a healthcare professional. They can provide a thorough evaluation and address any underlying issues that may be affecting your sexual health.
In summary, while the angle of an erection can vary, it does not necessarily correlate with erectile dysfunction. The key indicators of erectile health are the firmness of the erection and the ability to engage in sexual activity. If you have any concerns, seeking advice from a healthcare provider is always a good step to ensure your sexual health is in good standing.
