Hematospermia issues?

Hello, doctor.
I have experienced testicular pain before and would like to ask about my current situation.
Recently, I had an episode of testicular pain, and during this time, I masturbated and noticed blood in my semen.
About two weeks ago, I had testicular pain again, but I did not engage in any sexual activity during that period.
Recently, I have been more sexually active, having intercourse daily.
However, two days ago, I noticed that my semen was yellow, and for the next two days, it continued to be yellow but with blood streaks.
Today, when I ejaculated, I observed that the blood in my semen was more than in previous days.
Throughout this time, my semen has not been white; it has consistently been yellow.
I have not felt any discomfort in my reproductive system during these two days.
I would like to know what might be causing this.
Additionally, I have previously ejaculated daily without any blood in my semen, but now I have been experiencing hematospermia continuously.
Thank you, doctor.

Hematospermia, or the presence of blood in semen, can be a concerning symptom for many men. It can arise from various causes, and understanding these causes is crucial for determining the appropriate course of action. In your case, you have reported experiencing testicular pain and have noticed blood in your semen over the past few days, which has raised concerns.

Firstly, it is important to recognize that hematospermia can be caused by a range of factors, including infections, inflammation, trauma, or even benign conditions. Some of the common causes include:
1. Infections: Infections of the prostate (prostatitis), seminal vesicles, or epididymis can lead to blood in the semen. These infections may also cause pain in the testicles or lower abdomen.

2. Inflammation: Conditions such as epididymitis or prostatitis can cause inflammation in the reproductive organs, leading to bleeding.

3. Trauma: Any injury to the genital area, whether from physical activity, sexual intercourse, or other means, can result in hematospermia.

4. Vascular Issues: Conditions affecting blood vessels, such as varicoceles or pelvic congestion syndrome, may also contribute to the presence of blood in semen.

5. Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH): In older men, an enlarged prostate can lead to urinary and sexual symptoms, including hematospermia.

6. Malignancy: Although less common, tumors of the prostate, seminal vesicles, or other parts of the reproductive system can cause blood in the semen.

Given your symptoms of testicular pain and the recent onset of hematospermia, it is advisable to seek medical attention. A healthcare provider will likely perform a thorough evaluation, which may include:
- Physical Examination: A detailed examination of the genital area to check for any abnormalities or signs of infection.

- Urinalysis: Testing your urine for signs of infection or blood.

- Semen Analysis: Analyzing your semen to assess the presence of blood and other abnormalities.

- Imaging Studies: Ultrasound or other imaging techniques may be used to visualize the reproductive organs and identify any structural issues.

- Prostate Examination: A digital rectal exam may be performed to assess the prostate for any abnormalities.

In your case, the yellowish color of the semen could indicate a possible infection or inflammation, especially if it is accompanied by pain. The fact that you have experienced hematospermia consistently over the past few days warrants further investigation to rule out any serious underlying conditions.

It is also worth noting that stress and anxiety can exacerbate physical symptoms, including pain and discomfort in the reproductive area. However, this does not negate the need for a medical evaluation, especially given the presence of blood in your semen.

In conclusion, while hematospermia can be benign in some cases, it is essential to consult a healthcare professional to determine the underlying cause and receive appropriate treatment. Early intervention can help address any potential issues and alleviate your concerns. Please do not hesitate to reach out to a urologist or your primary care physician for further evaluation and guidance.
