Continuation: There is white substance during bowel movements?
Thank you for your prompt response to my question, doctor.
I would like to ask again about a situation where, after straining during a bowel movement, I notice a white discharge and experience soreness in my penis.
This soreness becomes more pronounced during an erection, and sometimes I feel discomfort after ejaculation.
Is this a normal phenomenon? Additionally, I occasionally feel pain in my lower abdomen (around the area where pubic hair begins), and sometimes my testicles feel swollen.
Could this be a sign of prostatitis? I found online that symptoms like painful bowel movements, groin pain, and testicular discomfort can indicate prostatitis, but I am only 22 years old.
Is it possible to develop this condition at such a young age? If it is indeed inflammation, can it be cured? When I see a doctor, how will they examine me to determine if it is prostatitis and not something else? Also, are there any precautions I should take? Can eating pumpkin seeds and drinking cranberry juice help improve the situation? Thank you again for your answers!

Understanding the symptoms you described is crucial for determining the underlying cause and appropriate treatment. The white discharge during bowel movements, along with the discomfort in the penis and testicles, raises several possibilities, including prostatitis (inflammation of the prostate gland) or other related conditions.
Firstly, it's important to clarify that experiencing white discharge during bowel movements is not a common symptom. This could potentially be related to a few factors, including the presence of mucus, which can sometimes accompany bowel movements, or it may be related to an underlying condition affecting the prostate or seminal vesicles. The discomfort you feel in the penis, especially during an erection or after ejaculation, could indeed suggest some form of inflammation or irritation in the reproductive system.
Prostatitis can occur in younger men, including those as young as 22. It is characterized by symptoms such as pelvic pain, painful urination, and discomfort during sexual activity. The pain in your lower abdomen and testicular discomfort could also be associated with this condition. While prostatitis can be acute or chronic, it is treatable, and many individuals experience significant relief with appropriate medical intervention.
When you visit a healthcare provider, they will likely conduct a thorough evaluation, which may include a physical examination, a digital rectal exam (DRE) to assess the prostate, and possibly urine tests or blood tests to rule out infections or other issues. They may also inquire about your bowel habits, sexual history, and any other symptoms you may be experiencing.
Regarding your concerns about diet and lifestyle, while certain foods like pumpkin seeds and cranberry juice are often touted for their health benefits, particularly for urinary tract health, they are not substitutes for medical treatment. Maintaining a balanced diet, staying hydrated, and practicing good hygiene are essential. If prostatitis is confirmed, your doctor may prescribe antibiotics if a bacterial infection is present, or other medications to manage pain and inflammation.
In summary, while your symptoms may be concerning, they are not uncommon, and prostatitis is a potential diagnosis that can occur at a young age. It is essential to seek medical attention to receive an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment. Early intervention can lead to better outcomes and relief from your symptoms. Remember, open communication with your healthcare provider about your symptoms will help them provide the best care possible.
