Semen cyst
Hello, doctor.
I have noticeable, painless cystic lumps above both of my testicles.
Sometimes, they seem to swell larger when I watch adult films, and I also experience a dull ache.
Could this be a seminal vesicle cyst? If I have seminal vesicle cysts on both sides, will it affect my future fertility? Thank you.

More Info
Seminal cysts, also known as spermatic cysts or epididymal cysts, are fluid-filled sacs that can develop in the male reproductive system, particularly in the epididymis, which is the structure that stores and matures sperm. These cysts are generally benign and often asymptomatic, meaning they do not usually cause any pain or discomfort. However, in some cases, they can become noticeable and may cause dull pain or discomfort, especially during sexual arousal or physical activity.
The symptoms you describe—painless cystic lumps above the testicles that sometimes enlarge and cause a dull ache—are consistent with seminal cysts. It is important to note that the presence of these cysts is typically not a cause for concern, especially if they are not causing significant pain or discomfort. However, if you notice any changes in size, shape, or if they become painful, it is advisable to consult a healthcare professional for further evaluation.
Regarding your concern about fertility, seminal cysts generally do not have a significant impact on male fertility. Most men with seminal cysts can still produce healthy sperm and father children. However, if the cysts are large or if they are associated with other conditions, such as a blockage in the reproductive tract, there could be potential implications for fertility. In rare cases, if the cysts are symptomatic or causing complications, surgical intervention may be considered.
It is also worth mentioning that while seminal cysts are common, other conditions can present similarly, such as varicoceles, hydroceles, or even testicular tumors. Therefore, it is essential to have a thorough examination by a healthcare provider, who may recommend an ultrasound or other imaging studies to confirm the diagnosis and rule out any other potential issues.
In summary, while the symptoms you are experiencing could indeed be indicative of seminal cysts, it is crucial to have a professional evaluation to ensure accurate diagnosis and management. If you have concerns about fertility or any other symptoms, discussing these with a urologist or a healthcare provider specializing in male reproductive health would be beneficial. They can provide personalized advice and treatment options based on your specific situation.
