The relationship between masturbation and the urge to urinate?

Hello, doctor.
I have a question.
I started masturbating in the 4th and 5th grades, and I have been doing it almost daily without any issues.
However, recently, if I drink a bowl of soup or a bottle of beverage (like during meals) within two to three hours before masturbating, I start to feel the urge to urinate halfway through the process.
When I go to the bathroom, I only pass a small amount of urine.
After returning, I continue to masturbate and soon feel the urge to urinate again, which can happen several times.
If I ignore the urge and continue, although there are no problems, it doesn't feel very pleasurable or satisfying.
However, once I finish masturbating, everything returns to normal, and I feel the urge to urinate only after accumulating a certain amount, just like anyone else.
I'm not sure if there's an issue with this situation.
I would appreciate your insights.
Thank you very much.

Hello: During masturbation, an erection occurs, which means that the erectile tissues of the penis become engorged with blood, allowing the penis to become firm.
In the latter part of this process, the prostate gland also becomes engorged and swollen, which may lead to a sensation of needing to urinate.
However, the swelling of both the prostate and the erectile tissues can compress the urethra, resulting in only a small amount of urine being expelled when you go to the bathroom.
After ejaculation, it is normal to still feel the urge to urinate; this is a physiological response and should not be a cause for concern.
However, if you are masturbating too frequently, it is advisable to moderate the frequency.
As you are approaching your thirties, doing it every three days is sufficient.
It is also important to engage in other forms of exercise to prevent premature decline in sexual function after marriage.
Wishing you peace and happiness.

The connection between masturbation and the urge to urinate is a topic that can be influenced by various physiological and psychological factors. It's important to understand that both activities involve the pelvic region and can sometimes lead to overlapping sensations.

When you engage in masturbation, the pelvic muscles are activated, which can also stimulate the bladder. This stimulation can create a sensation of urgency to urinate, especially if you have consumed fluids prior to the activity. The bladder and the sexual organs share nerve pathways, which means that the stimulation of one can sometimes lead to sensations in the other.
In your case, it seems that the urge to urinate arises shortly after you have consumed fluids and then engage in masturbation. This is not uncommon. The bladder fills with urine, and when you stimulate the pelvic area during masturbation, it can create a sensation of fullness or urgency. However, if you find that you are only able to pass a small amount of urine when you go to the bathroom, it may indicate that your bladder is not fully filled, or that the sensation is more related to the stimulation rather than a full bladder.

It's also worth noting that anxiety or nervousness can exacerbate the urge to urinate. If you feel anxious about the sensations you are experiencing, this could lead to a heightened awareness of your bladder and the urge to urinate. This is sometimes referred to as "nervous bladder" and can occur in various situations, including sexual activity.

From a medical standpoint, there are a few considerations to keep in mind:
1. Hydration and Fluid Intake: If you are consuming a lot of fluids before masturbation, it is natural for your bladder to fill up, which can lead to the urge to urinate. Monitoring your fluid intake and timing may help manage this sensation.

2. Pelvic Floor Muscle Activity: Engaging in activities that involve the pelvic floor can lead to increased awareness of bladder sensations. If you are consistently experiencing this issue, it may be beneficial to explore pelvic floor exercises, which can help strengthen the muscles and potentially reduce the sensation of urgency.

3. Psychological Factors: If you find that the urge to urinate is causing discomfort or anxiety during masturbation, it may be helpful to address any underlying psychological factors. Relaxation techniques or mindfulness practices can help reduce anxiety and improve your overall experience.

4. Medical Evaluation: If this sensation continues to be bothersome or if you notice any changes in your urinary habits, it may be wise to consult a healthcare professional. They can evaluate for any underlying conditions that may be contributing to your symptoms, such as urinary tract infections or other bladder issues.

In conclusion, the urge to urinate during masturbation can be a common experience influenced by fluid intake, pelvic muscle activity, and psychological factors. If this sensation is causing discomfort or affecting your enjoyment, consider adjusting your fluid intake, practicing relaxation techniques, and consulting with a healthcare provider if necessary. Understanding your body’s responses can help you navigate these sensations more comfortably.
